Booked for 4 nights room #1 Wouldn't stay here again Bad: - our room is extremely noisy, there's a night club/bar across the road and the music is very loud, it kept me up until 3am - you can heard everything from outside your room, even when people are walking by and talking, everything echo's through your room. - the beds are very hard, like cement - double beds are actually two singles pushed together - aircon very noise - hot water takes forever to come thru - someone keeps calling the phone in the room, it's very annoying they don't say nothing then hangs up. I had to take the phone off the hook. Good: - The staff are very lovely and helpful - rooms are clean - it's located across from the markets which is good but it's very noisy from the street traffic

Bed was hard as a rock. Smoking is allowed in the center courtyard, so you may have to walk through someone's smoke on your way to your room. The rooms are in various states of disrepair, cracked and patched sinks, floor tiles etc, nothing major, just unsightly. We had two rooms, one was in the center so it did not have any exterior windows. So we had no hot water and all the noise of people coming and going to thier rooms. There are windows that look out onto the courtyard. These windows do not have darkening curtains so the hall lights that are left on all night shine into the room. The other room was on the street side of the Mercado, so lots of street noise beginning about 7am, but this room had fantastic hot water. Both rooms were spacious even with 2 king sized beds. The entire facility was very clean and the staff was incredibly friendly and kind. The hard beds is the reason we wouldn't go back.

The good: Centrally located and right across the street from the largest market in the city. Plenty of places to eat and shop at nearby, plus the rooms are cool enough in the afternoons that you don't need the AC! also front desk staff is really nice. The bad: If i didn't leave the small bathroom window and bathroom door open, this moldy smell accumulates (mold was growing on bathroom ceiling in the shower area). Worst part, was absolutely no water pressure in the shower. I had them replace the shower head, but still the water came out in drops. Took 20 minutes to take a shower and hot water almost never worked. There was more water pressure in the sink for some reason. I almost contemplated taking a washcloth bath using the sink instead, since it probably would have been faster. I sincerely hope you have better luck than me.

Very clean, for example, the tiled (no filthy carpet) floor in our room was mopped daily. The staff are numerous and accommodating. Original art and judicious use of color make for pleasant decor. There is a lot of open patio space where it is pleasant to relax. Our room was in front with a window facing the busy street, so some street noise was audible. More than adequate value for the reasonable rate.

All was absolutely lovely until this episode happened: we were told a specific tour would include a specific location (Mitla) but the tour guide simply said by the end of the day that it was never part of the plan. The error obviously came from the tour agency as all the people in the tour (from different hotels) also expected to visit Mitla. We asked for 100 pesos back each (2 ppl) to the receptionist. He gave us the possibility to book another tour the next day at half price to visit Mitla, which we couldn't as we were leaving to another city. I asked 3 times what we could about it and that we wanted 100 pesos each back for not being able to visit Mitla. The answer of the receptionist was " You will be leaving your luggages in the reception tomorrow right ?" This question had nothing to see with the conversation but clearly indicated a threat and a possibility to lose our luggage after the check out. We backed away and left it there. I didn't appreciate at all this "friendly reminder" so the experience passed from 5 stars to 1 star.
