I found someone to take over the lease for even more money and for a longer period of time with the understanding that I would get my deposit back. After I left, he told me he would NOT give me my deposit back. So I told him I would then just come back because I was paid up until the first of the month. He said fine, but when I flew back there was someone already living in my place, a week BEFORE my rent was due Also the place was full of ants and cockroaches, the toilet leaked all over the bathroom and the water filter leaked into the water jug making it look like tea.

They werent professional and gave me bad information about the house and told me the title was clear when they knew the title was not clear. They just wanted to make some quick cash. I have heard from other people as well that they are real estate crooks and have scammed a lot of people out of their money on the island. Beware when dealing with Casas Cozumel!

Dan will pick you up at the airport, show you all the properties, really go out of his way. This happened just one week ago. A friend got sick in Akumal, was taken to the Playa del Carmen hospital. Dan went out of his way, went to Playa picked up my friend and brought him back to Cozumel where Doctors that he knew would take care of him. I am a Chiropractor in the US, you really don't know how important it is to have people that know where to help you find quality health care in Mexico. Believe me, I was there in Akumal.... We met with Dan ( big guy from Minnesota) and he was great! He showed us a lot of properties and we finally found the perfect house. I was nervous about buying in Mexico, as one should be. It was the first time we have invested in a second home and Mexico sounded kind of scary. But we fell in love with Cozumel as soon as we got off the plane from Houston. The airport is small easy to get around in. Dan had us to our hotel in minutes. Some r&r then a tour of the island. The water is so clear, the people are so friendly, the food is so delicious. Being on an island gives Cozumel a different feel than the mainland, the people here are all smiles, they seem happy. That makes you feel safe. Just about everyone here speaks English. Enough about Cozumel, Dan and Casas Realty helped us find a house that is perfect. The right price, everything we wanted in a house, the closing was fairly simple, need I say more. I would recommend Dan and Casas Cozumel Realty.
