It is a beautiful place, a bit complicated to get to if you have a short car but it is worth getting there. From Chiquilistlan it is about 30 minutes approximately, it is about 15 minutes on a paved road and another 15 or 10 on a dirt road. At the end of the dirt road you will find a small parking lot, if you go by car you can leave it there, but if you have a truck or other off-road vehicle you can cross the river without any problem. Crossing the river there are small stalls where they sell you food and drinks (it is only open on Sundays and holidays). In this location you will find the first waterfall, which is beautiful, impressive and impressive. You can go swimming if you wish, although the water is a bit cold. Crossing the river there is a rope to continue walking upstream and be able to see the second waterfall, which also has a small lagoon to swim and enjoy the water. If you continue upstream in a short time you will find the third waterfall where there is also space to swim, rappel, eat, take photos, etc. The interesting thing does not end there if you continue walking upstream you will find more lagoons, more nature, as well as beautiful views and unmissable passages. Approximately 2.5 kilometers from the last waterfall you begin to see the birth of the water which falls from some cliffs, there will also be a small cave with stalactites formed by the salts of the water. At the end of this small cave there is a cayon which you must swim across to finally reach a cave where the river begins.

The entrance is a cooperation of 30 pesos. If you arrive early (11am) there are hardly any people and it is better to go when it is not the rainy season if you want to see the clear water and the area without so much mud. You can bring your own food without problems, but they also sell on the spot. Highly recommended :)

Amazing and hidden gem close to Guadalajara; for sure it needs a whole day experience, but it's totally worth it

Very beautiful waterfall. Me and my husband climbed to the very top and I must say it is a sight to see. Pictures do not do justice for this amazing natural gift of nature.

Be very careful about flash floods during the rainy season. It can get very bad within 10 to 20 seconds.

This is a great experience to live. I went with a group called Go Camping, it is only two hours away from Guadalajara. Great place to do some hiking, around 4 miles back and forth. You can drive till the entrance but walking is a great experience specially to beginners. The bathrooms are very clean, the water is cold but transparent and clear! The river and the waterfalls make such an special noise that you won’t feel any stress, going there was a great experience! I see people hiking and rappelling. All surroundings are perfectly clean, it is a must if you want to experience Jalisco’s best waterfalls.
