★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Toll booth for the Sumidero Canyon. Here you’d have to pay 50 pesos to enter the area. However, if you are walking and come between 6 and 8 o’clock, you can enter the canyon National Park for free. If you come with a tour, most likely your tour price covers this fee. Yet, in case you do solely the boat tour from Chiapa de Corzo, keep your brown wrist band since this will serve you here as well, and you can save paying the same thing twice. Definitely make sure you’ll wear the wristband until you’ll leave the park since they will randomly check it when exiting. To do the hike, go early, and you may spot the sunrise above the canyon; yet, keep in mind that it will take you about 40-45 minutes (or less in case you’re running) to walk to the first lookout.
