★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Casita de la Peñita is the perfect boutique suite hotel in the perfect Mexican coastal town. Bob & Linda are attentive hosts in this pristine, friendly, well maintained spot. The gated courtyard with its small pool lets out to the beach just metres away. As a town, La Peñita offers a true, easy-going, not-very-touristed experience for someone wanting something different than the generic all-inclusive. This is our fourth visit at xmas/New Year's and we will be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just came back from an amazing week of sun, fun and great times at La Casita de la Peñita! Bob and Linda are the perfect hosts, catering to our every needs, be it poolside private massages, organizing catamaran sailing adventures or having a local chef come in and make fabulous crepes for us for breakfast. With the beach just across the road, it takes but a few minutes to be set up with a cold beer in hand (they stocked our fridge with Dos XX, Pacifico, Sol or Corona!) to contemplate another stunning Pacific Coast sunset. The community of La Peñita is warm and welcoming and it's a refreshing change from all-inclusive resorts, to be able to go mix and mingle with the locals. Restaurant choices recommended by our hosts, were always excellent and entertaining! For a more authentic taste of Mexico, I would not hesitate to recommend La Casita de la Peñita for your next Mexican adventure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been to Mexico several times but never to such a quaint setting. The Casita de La Penita is at the water end of this little town so you get the best of many worlds. An authentic Mexican town with some tourists in it and a fabulous homey place to stay, that is run by Linda and Bob - two Canadians who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable by offering information and help in any way you might need it. The Casita only has 7 apartments on 2 floors so it is easy to meet people if that is your thing or you can sit quietly and read and chill on your own. The beach is right in front and there is another more active tourist beach with bars and restaurants a short walk away. The town has lots of good restaurants from Mexican to Italian, a fun Thursday market, and shops that will meet your needs from groceries to household items.
We loved it and can't wait to go again.

I loved everything about our trip and am so glad I chose to stay in Casita de La Penita and experience a Mexican town. The Casita is a little paradise within the town and made the stay so enjoyable. The residents in La Penita were friendly and helpful, as were our hosts, Bob and Linda. All things added together were ingredients for a great vacation as well as a learning experience, making for a great getaway to a warm climate.
The experiences we had during our 3 week stay were absolutely amazing! Thank you, Linda and Bob, Lara, and also Pepe (our personal tour guide - ha ha!) for helping to make it so very memorable!

From the great accommodations, to the restaurant recommendations and reservations, as well as the massage by the pool, they made sure every day of our trip surpassed our expectations. It was an authentic Mexican experience that you just don't get from an all-inclusive resort. The beaches, the village and the company made it an unforgettable vacation and we can't wait to return. Everyday was like day one. Thanks again Bob and Linda!!
