We were here for 7 days with our 3 kids. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food, the resort is beautiful. But you you should know that it is secluded, and every drive outside is extremely overpriced (50-100 dollars per drive for close distances). Another example- when we asked the reception to help us get a medication as one of out girls was sick, they wanted to charge us 150 us dollars. The same medication cost us 5 dollars in a pharmacy in town two hours later. We would expect the hotel staff to be on our side, and not help rip us off. Be careful, trust yourself and it’s recommended to just rent a car. Having said that, overall we had a good experience and enjoyed our time.More

My husband and I had a nice stay for my birthday weekend in March. The resort is about 45 minutes away from the airport, and there is a lot of new development in the area. The hotel is beautiful and modern. The resort itself isn’t huge, but it’s a good size for a short trip. Although not all restaurants are included in the all-inclusive package as well as room service, the food at the available restaurants and buffet are very good. There is entertainment every night, and my husband and I enjoyed dancing at one of the bars in the evening. The beach and pool are very clean, and we enjoyed spending time at each of those places during our trip!

Everything is beautiful — the interior design, the landscaping, but especially the exterior of the hotel. It’s all breathtaking! The service is unmatched! All the servers are attentive, polite, personable, and quick to get you what you need. The food and drinks are delicious. The cleanliness is impressive, as well as the housekeeping. There are endless things to do and see. It’s simply a paradise! I will be coming back again!

The resort was spacious and clean. The staff were welcoming, helpful and conscientious the entire trip. The food was surprisingly good at all of the many locations to eat. No one in the family were sick at all in the entire 2 weeks. Hardly any bugs outside at all. We had a swim-up family suite and the "privileged" bracelets seemed worth it for the restaurant and bar that were only for those guests with our bracelets. Room service was also great. The beach was a fine sand paradise with palm trees with great body surfing on windy days for the kids without open ocean undertow. The kids loved the dance shows in the evenings, and the New Years party they put on for the entire resort was great. Pools and the bars around them were well maintained and serviced with plenty of staff. Many thanks to Francisco at PURE beach bar, and Joana at the activity pool. The Activity pool entertainment staff were always fun and friendly, and created a fun environment every day. We really enjoyed the entire experience.

We are on the last day of our week long stay and very much enjoying it. The grounds are very well kept and the ambiance is amazing. Went to the beach day 1, butt ended at the pool bar. Over the last few days, met a lot of fun people and hung out with them and even helped celebrate one of their birthdays! Had a couples massage today followed by some hydrotherapy (didn’t know that was a thing), and definitely will do it again before we leave. Shout outs: Rosa’s poolside service is second to none. She took very good care of us and I recommend any here or coming here, seek her out and take care of her too. The staff here is great and I can’t remember them all, but Rafael and Avid at the pool bar are also amazing, Sidenote: fish tacos at the seaside cart are in the top 3 best fish tacos I’ve ever had.

This resort was phenomenal! It was our first all-inclusive vacation and I wanted a nice place to relax with a beautiful beach and excellent service. This place surpassed my expectations! The first night there, at the "Tequila Bar" outdoor Mexican restaurant, our server Marcos made us feel so welcome and special and took such good care of us! We kept going back to him multiple times during our 10 night stay there. The restaurants were great! The beach was always clean and the sand and water were amazing. We upgraded to the privileged suite and it was worth every penny, with first class service, a specific beach area and bar we could hang out, and a huge gorgeous suite with a big deck. Loved every minute we were there. The sales guys for memberships got a little annoying, but they weren't too bad. Just keep saying no thank you. Otherwise, it was absolutely perfect. We miss you Marcos!

My family and I stayed at the Catalonia for about 8 days. The hotel is quite nice, the pools area great! And honestly the best part of the hotel is thr amazing kids center. They do so many activities and projects with the kids it is awesome! My son didn’t want to leave. The hotel is clean, and well kept. I had two giant issues with the hotel, #1 was the food and drink, #2 was the staffs inattentiveness. #1Our trip was supposed to be all inclusive, it wasn’t. The 3 restaurants you want to eat at, are not include (must be paid for). Other then those, there is a buffet, and it sucks. The food is beyond basic at the buffet. It’s borderline not worth eating there. Now there are other restaurants, most of which are outdoor seating, order yourself from your phone, no waiter/waitress in sight. The rest of the food is food trucks. Also, more of a pet peeve then a actual issue, they sit and count how many beverages this drop off in the in room mini bar. And room service, NOT INCLUDED EITHER. Drinks: hope you aren’t thirsty, as no one will bother to ask you if you want or need anything. Spending 4-5 hours at the pool, only 2 out of the 8 days I was there did anyone ask if we wanted anything. #2 MUCH of the staff doesn’t speak English or not very well at all. The hostess at the major (included) restaurant, didn’t speak English and had to keep getting one of the waiters to answer my question ( how long the wait was). The cleaning staff spoke next to no English either. The hotel is very nice, but I wouldn’t recommend any friends or family to stay here, due to the bad service, which is unfortunate as it is a nice hotel.

If the sun was shining brightly through the length of my stay I’d have no doubts I’d review 5/5. However, it rained my entire stay which made me focus more on the amenities and hospitality of the hotel. The rooms are nice and the breakfast buffet was grand but all other eateries are just good. The entertainment each night varies and is a good time. The open bar is plentiful but it’s really 50/50 shot if the drink is actually good or not. The staff was great. Shalom and Victor specifically were amazing! I can’t say enough kind words about the staff, very friendly and accommodating and honestly made my stay all the better. There is a COVID test center for travelers which is convenient. Overall I had a pleasant stay but without the sun one is forced to focus on just what the hotel provides which is fine but not a dream Mexican vacation.
