★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't bother hiring, they gave us poor boards then claimed we'd only hired for a few hrs and took them back. We'd hired for the day. Fortunately we hadn't paid. They may be less funny with lessons. Surf elsewhere!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Catcha L'Ola is a gem. Very professional team, they are great at matching ocean conditions with surfer's abilities. Leo is a local sensei, and Edgar is a great instructor. Surf's up!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stumbled on a quaint little surf shop with a few people sitting around a table enjoying drinks and was welcomed to the table. Ended the evening signed up for surf and paddleboarded lessons the next morning. What a great experience...casual, professional and FUN. Thank you Leo....so happy to meet you and share some ocean time!!! Highly recommend for a great time!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing experience with Catcha L'ola. I had lessons 2 days while on vacation and wish I could have gone more. They treat you like you are family, we even sat and had lunch with them after the first lesson. I met Leo, Edgar and Joshua and they are all genuine nice people. I was fortunate enough to catch many waves and gained tons of ocean knowledge and confidence while surfing with Joshua. Best lessons and prices around for sure! Started out with the basics on land then led to the water where they gave more tips and skills when you were ready. I can't wait to be back and catch more waves with the team.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing experience! Last minute set up a surfing class and did not dissapoint. Our instructor was so amazing and patient. He took us to a local spot to pick up breakfast and some cafe de olla! Would really reccomend if you are in the area and looking for a surfing lesson. I had the amazing experience of trying to surf for the first time and my instructor was very knowledgeable and patient! Thank you!

quality of lessons was very poor. The local mexican guy was just pushing us and saying "paddle". The host of the school didn't bother to give any introduction at all, just dropped us there. The boards were bad quality and poorly fitting our height. The surf is quite a ride from where the school is, so it's also not very eco-friendly. The whole thing lets say: there is no surfing in Ixtapa, better look somewhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome local guides. Family owned and run for 20 + years. I took a lesson with Edgar my first day for $50, then rented a board and caught a ride out with the Leo and the crew daily to the local surf break. The guys couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. Leo and Edgar are surf legends in the area and if they're not teaching they're surfing along beside you. 5/5 would recommend for lessons or rentals.
