Rooms needs to be more clean

Lovely hotel, with renovated and clean rooms, and good service!

Great small hotel intercontinental the center of Campeche. Te rooms are clean, bit could be a little bit bigger. I rated this place 4 stars because of the good value.

clean hotel, average service. no parking available, no restaurant either, beds could be more comfortable, specially pillows (too tall). near historic downtown and restaurants in 59th street. OK for a one night stay, but not for prolonged stays

Delightful hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Location is perfect for wandering about and experiencing the city. Closer to the less tourist areas, if you are on a budget the location makes it very easy to get less a less dressed experience. Still, only 2 blocks off of the long stretch of tourist based activities.

My experience at Hotel La Catedral was mostly good but also with a few (hopefully remediable) issues. I stayed there twice in the span of twelve days. During the first stay the main front desk person Gabriela was always helpful; arranging a taxi to the bus station and kindly letting me store my guitar there while I was away for a few days traveling elsewhere in the state. My upstairs room was comfortable, albeit missing the seat on the toilet (my first time seeing this at a hotel in Mexico and wasn’t sure if this was a ‘thing’ or not so didn’t mention it). Before I left on my side trip Gabriela had kindly arranged a room at the (non-online booking agent) discounted rate for the three nights I was going to stay on return. When I swung back through the room I was assigned was on the first floor this time and suffered from a noticeable humidity issue, even (or I think probably because of) the air conditioning unit. There was another lady at the front desk this time and when I politely mentioned the problem and asked if it was possible to change rooms (also saying I understood if they were full, which at that time it seemed they weren’t) she acted annoyed and like it was an inconvenience to have even been asked. She said the “humidity was a problem with all the rooms”. This wasn’t true as room 10 upstairs where I first stayed didn’t have this problem at all. I mentioned that, again kindly, and after another eye roll/sigh of annoyance she said “maybe tomorrow”. The next day I decided not to push it and told her not to worry about it (she looked relieved). Aside from these minor problems (both of which have also been mentioned in other reviews), the faculties are decent, the aforementioned Gabriela is ~super~ nice, professional, very helpful and accommodating and the location is great. It may well be a case of ‘the mortgage on the property’s paid for so why lift a finger to do more than the bare minimum?’ Hopefully they will make an effort towards improvement on the above points as I think with a few tweaks it’d be a home run at its affordable price point and very good location.
