15 minute cycle from Tulum to get there along a motorway but there is a hard shoulder with plenty of space. $250mx each to enter but we spent about 3-4 hours here (great value) Opens at 9am and we were one of the first to enter, chose a sun lounger and felt very safe to leave our bags there. Tourists were very courteous and understood that everyone there wants to get the perfect photos. We didn’t like that you have to shower so far away from the cenote and right next to a kitchen where there were lots of people eating breakfast and watching you undress..??

I was a bit disappointed by Cenote Calavera. I arrived around 3 pm, hoping for the crowds to have eased off but that wasn't the case. It's a small space so any number above 8 would start feeling crowded. But more so, the vibe just felt trashy. The cenote did have the ladder and swing but it was impossible to get a clean shot without anyone interrupting either casually swimming by or jumping in. They have installed chairs around the cenote so it feels everyone is watching you. The most disappointing aspect is their retarded policy toward "professional" cameras like DSLR's or GoPro's. Depending on their mood, they will either not allow you take any photos/videos with it or charge extra. Unless you really want a photo here (which will come out really well if you get the privacy), I'd avoid this one.

(Price $?) A very friendly quiet place, excellent to relax for a while. I recommend it to go only for about 2 hours, no more, it gets a bit boring. The price is too high for what is really in this place, it was $250 MXN on 01/26/22.

The entrance to get in is 250 MXN per person. We paid that, yet once we got out of the car and walked to the showers I took out my GoPro to start ‘recording the experience’ and immediately was told that I was not allowed to use a GoPro unless I paid an extra 200 MXN. That actually annoyed me for 2 reasons. Firstly, I should have been told that BEFORE i paid the entrance fee. Secondly, by taking a video with my GoPro, i can create some quality content and in effect some free marketing and thus drive more people to visit the cenote. The guy was even following me around to make sure I wasn’t using my GoPro. Which I would be really curious to know what the difference with taking a video on my iPhone 13Pro Max is to taking a video with a GoPro….. Overall, the cenote is cute with the ladder and the swing. Try to visit before all the tourists get there, in order to be able to take your ‘instagram-worthy’ pic with as little people around as possible. I would say early in the morning is probably best since everyone tends to visit Gran Cenote first which is a 1 minute drive away yet much busier.

So we actually couldnt decide which cenote to visit for a long time. After reading a lot of comments we went to the cenote calavera, because of a lot of reviews said its not as packed as the gran cenote. The entry is 250 pesos each - they have posters which say the same on the door, so this should be the official price. Anybody who paid more for it just got scammed by the employees. The cenote is on a very big location which is being constructed right now (they have showers, toilets, picnic area, lots of seatings, parking etc) and I think they are building more for entertainment reasons. You can also buy some snacks and drinks there. The cenote itself is around 2x3m wide and you can jump in or use the ladder to get in. The water is beautiful and clear and there is also an instagrammable swing inside. BUT the cenote does get packed really quickly since its so small. We have been there quite late on a weekday and were surrounded by around 40 people. Its also only open until 5 pm.

The entrance is quite expensive compared to other places but the cenote is really amazing, 100% worth it! A wonderful formation and great vibes! If you are without a car, you can stop a taxi or even walk from/to Tulum (though the road is quite busy).

This Cenoté is very beautiful. The locals that run it have done an amazing job with the upkeep. There are brightly painted swings and Hammocks when you first walk in (perfect for taking pictures). There is beautiful trees and plants all around. I loved that they provided chair for everyone that visits. The water was nice and refreshing.

For such a small cenote it never felt crowded. People were taking turns and there was a great community vibe. Definitely the most bats I have seen at any cenote. Very cool! Vibrant art work on the way in.
