El Instituto Vallartense de Cultura (IVC) es un Organismo Público Descentralizado (OPD) del Gobierno Municipal de Puerto Vallarta.
MISIÓN
El Instituto Vallartense de Cultura es la institución encargada de preservar de forma integral el patrimonio cultural de Puerto Vallarta, así como también de apoyar y generar programas orientados a la creación, desarrollo y esparcimiento de las diversas manifestaciones artísticas y culturales.
VISIÓN
Elevar la presencia del arte y la cultura en el municipio a través de proyectos, exposiciones y eventos culturales. Estimular la creación artística y cultural con libertad de expresión, de acuerdo con el objetivo municipal de promover y difundir el patrimonio y la identidad locales. Valorar la diversidad cultural como elemento sustancial de la existencia humana, reconociendo que la naturaleza del puerto exige dialogar con las diversas culturas del país y del mundo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not much there.unlesd you want to take a music class or painting.. the island Rio Cuale where the cultural center is the lungs of Vallarta the only green public park in the area it's Great to access the river where it's cleaner and let the kids play in river ..take a beer or full meal at one of the two restaurants nearby..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you need an AMAZING Art/Music teacher this is the place to go ! Even tho you are not going there to study this placenis right on the heart of the Rio Cuale which arriving can be a nice and beautiful walk.

I had a great time and would definitely recommend if you're feeling adventurous.
I don't speak very much Spanish but the staff was Very Accommodating and made sure I found a Class that would suit my Skill Level.
I'm so glad I tried it and I know I will again when I come back!

The cats had taken over this end of the island for many years when someone decided it was a good place for a cat refuge, then everyone started dumping off cats so they would clip one ear to identify the ones properly "rescued" from the dumped. Then I think they quit doing it but nobody told the cats or the people dumping them so it got a bit overcrowded and didn't smell so good. It's great though if you are a cat lover. Go early in the morning to see them..

You can be part of the chorus, can have some snacks and drinks in the bar outside the auditorium. It's a nice place to walk and keep in touch with the culture
