El inmueble fue uno de los primeros complejos franciscanos en el estado de Tlaxcala, actualmente es la casa de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de la localidad. El antiguo inmueble presenta muy pocos vestigios del siglo XVI, no obstante puedo decir que fue lo mejor, ya que se evitó su destrucción total. Pueden consultar el libro “Primeros Franciscanos en Tlaxcala” de Lucina Toulet Abasolo, en él hace una relación de los primeros asentamientos de la Orden en aquellas latitudes.
