Centro Cultural Wapani - 29200 San Cristóbal de las Casas

Great place to hang out. Good crafted beer at fair prices and excellent live music almost every day. Very interesting workshops and events.

Once we had arrived to San Cristobal de las Casas in May 2020, we knew we wanted to discover a place that would appreciate our services and give us a space to teach. While we were practicing our partner poi flow arts at the Plaza del Cerrillo, Alex, the steward of El Wapani (as he does not claim ownership over the organization) approached us and welcomed us to the space, though it was not currently open to the public due to the quarantine. A few days later we came to the space and decided to invest in it. For the next two months we taught classes in Acro yoga, flow arts, conscious dreaming and more, first to the people living in Wapani and then later to the public once they reopened. We even recorded a couple fire spinning music videos (one pictured here). I love Alex’s faith and understanding in people and the universe as the way he does business is far from traditional, and it’s working. I am very grateful to have gotten an opportunity to appreciate and be appreciated by Wapani and I recommended it highly to the traveling circus performer, artist of sorts, or theater enthusiast. this place is low key with a great/comfortable vibe. go support them, right now!! bust out your wallet you cheapo, they are doing good things in the community and are well under appreciated for it:))

One of our favourite place for cultural and art in SanCristobal de las Casas. THEY have open space to dance u Der Hoja Santa tree and are really open and friendly. Visit a centro cultural in San Cris is DEFINETELY a way to find out what unique this town can offer! And meanwhile you helping some great causes ?

The ecstatic dance and cacao ceremony with Divana and Amaru are an absolute must.

I have a lot of conflicted feelings about this place. It has great events and classes, but the space itself is really unclean, mold infested (yeah know there's a lot of mold in San cris, but this place has a serious infestation) their yoga mats are dirty, the bathroom is in need of a serious cleaning cause it pretty gross and the space needs a lot of fixing up and care.

Amazing events, amazing space, I love the environment and classes, but I’m pretty sure their pizza gave me salmonella… so buyer beware. Definitely check out the classes and events though!!
