Très jolie cascade qui se mérite après une bonne descente ( puis remontée ) de nombreuses marches. La cascade était relativement bien fournie en eau même en saison sèche. Il n'y avait peu de monde.
Very pretty waterfall which is deserved after a good descent (then ascent) of many steps. The waterfall was relatively well supplied with water even in the dry season. There were few people.

Beautiful gorge. Lack of maintenance and trash everywhere. We tidied up the beach were we stayed but the place needs thorough trash collecting. We came at 5pm when everything was closed - slept on a sand dune with our tent - extremely humid and hot. There were animals thar made blinking lights when it was dark. An animal tried to eat our food while we were preparing it for dinner. Even though we put our trash on a tall branch in the night an animal succeeded in taking it down and spreading it around. We left at midday next day without having paid anything.

Definitely worth the trip! We took a taxi from Coita (200mxn) on the way there and a colectivo back. If you take a colectivo, it's a 3k walk from the main road to the actual entrance. I read that there would be mototaxis to cover that 3k stretch but we didn't see any on Sunday. Will come back one day to camp down in the canyon.

They work till 3pm and lock the gate this time. Nice walk 720 steps down and then up. Half an hour of the moderate cardio to see the canyon and a small waterfall. Worth visiting if it's on your way, but don't think it makes sense to drive here intentionally.

Absolutely stunning. A great day trip from Tuxtla. We drove for one hour on a rental car and arrived there at 8 am. We were the first and had only one family arrive like one hour after us. Strongly recommended to bring a swimsuit and a towel. We walked inside the river and the water was shallow, maybe knee high at most. But we heard that in the raining season the river is quite high. There is a restaurant, restrooms and a simple shower.
