★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Historical place, country of Mexico started at this point and then they slowly expanded maintaining historical center at the current center of the country. I've heard the theory that when more global warming comes and Yucatán gets swallowed by the ocean México will surrender some of its lands in the north to USA to maintain the balance and keep the center of the country at the actual center. This move will also reduce violent crime in Mexico and increase it in the USA, two birds with one stone if you ask me
