Really neat to get out and see how other cultures are caring for their wildlife and enviroment. This was fun and educational and we really enjoyed all the little (and big) tortugas!

I believe that there aren't really happy turtles in there. Don't think they have enough space in those tanks. Further, i read in a comment from 3 years ago that the area is under reconstruction. Well, it still is.. This doesn't seem trustworthy that this center really cares about them turtles.

Great museum that's showcases many variety of American (North, South, Central) turtles. This center was built to remove the focus from consumption and use to preservation of local sea turtles. This is low season and the center is currently remodeling and expanding the exhibit space. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. One can also volunteer here (see pics for info). Cost 35 MXN. Can't beat it.

Great little space where they have all sorts of turtles (land and sea), and educate people on the importance of conserving and rebuilding the turtle population. Only costs $34 pesos to enter, so if you have a spare hour, go visit!

Educational. Learned quite a bit, but it could be better. Aquarium does not have AC or fans, so it can get quick warm inside. The rest of the exhibits are outdoors. Entrance fee is $37 pesos. I Probably dedicated 2hrs tops for the entire site. If you want to skip it, you'll be fine.

Unsure about the claims of “rehabilitation” centre, there’s seems to be an unnecessary amount of turtles in captivity. The larger sea turtles in the pool were constantly swimming into the walls of the tanks or floating lifelessly in the water. Feeling pretty deflated..

The history of the place is nice. It was built to help change attitudes in the area towards sea turtles and apparently did a lot for that. But for a visit, the place is pretty sad. The land turtles' tanks are really barren and depressing and the sea turtles tanks are way too small. I recommend taking a boat ride instead to see the wild turtles or perhaps finding a release of the baby turtles. This place is in desperate need of rethinking and renovation.
