★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No hubo alguien con interés que nos atendiera, improvisado la comida y las instalaciones están derruidas o sin mantenimiento, y para tres horas de camino!!! Además el camino está para llorar y no hay ningún señalamiento en todo el trayecto.
There was no one with interest to attend us, improvised food and facilities are in ruins or without maintenance, and for three hours on the way !!! Furthermore, the road is for crying and there is no signpost throughout the journey.

Hace ya muchos años escuchamos hablar de las mil islas, pero pasó el tiempo y no fue sino hasta hace un par de años que hemos podido visitar las comunidades de San Andrés Cerro Quemado y San Pedro Ixcatlán, para poder ver desde diferentes perspectivas el sin fin de estas pequeñas islas, resultado de la inundación provocada en esta zona de la región del Papaloapan en la construcción de la presa Miguel Alemán.
Recordamos que la primera vez que llegamos nos costó mucho encontrar un lugar desde el cual admirar el paisaje, en ese entonces el ecoturismo de la zona había dejado de promover e informar como seguramente en algún otro tiempo lo hizo. Al final encontramos un espacio desde el cual contemplarlas en una mañana de sábado, fue espectacular ver lo que estaba frente a nosotros y aunque nos ha faltado bajar y navegar entre ellas, no dudamos que algún día lo haremos.
La vista que presentamos en estas fotos es desde Cerro Quemado.
Thousand Islands ???
Many years ago we heard about the thousand islands, but time passed and it was not until a couple of years ago that we were able to visit the communities of San Andrés Cerro Quemado and San Pedro Ixcatlán, to be able to see the endless of these small islands, as a result of the flooding caused in this area of the Papaloapan region in the construction of the Miguel Alemán dam.
We remember that the first time we arrived, it was very difficult for us to find a place from which to admire the landscape, at that time the ecotourism of the area had stopped promoting and informing as it surely did at some other time. In the end we found a space from which to contemplate them on a Saturday morning, it was spectacular to see what was in front of us and although we have lacked going down and navigating between them, we do not doubt that one day we will.
