About Cerveceria Artesenal San Pancho

Cervecería Artesanal San Pancho is the brainchild of Wally and Paula Walsh.  Having visited Riviera Nayarit since 2001, they envisioned living in this beautiful area of Mexico and opening a business that combined their passions.  A long time home brewer, and craft beer fan, Wally pictured opening a craft beer bar reminiscent of something one might find in Portland, Oregon, where they previously lived for over 2o years.

The vision began to really take shape when they met Francisco Mora, owner and brewmaster at Santa Sabina Cerveza Artesanal in Guadalajara.  A love and passion for great beer sparked a friendship and collaboration that lead to the opening of Cervecería Artesanal San Pancho in November of 2o17.

"I knew right away that Francisco's beers were special, similar to the quality I was used to drinking back in Portland...and I wanted them to be the cornerstone of our craft beer bar in San Pancho."   - Wally

Combining great beer, delicious food and a desire to bring people together in a warm, welcoming environment has been the goal since day one. Paula had previous experience in managing successful restaurants and bars, and her nutrition/health coach background provided the basis for the food menu featuring high-quality 'nibble food' like charcuterie, cheese plates, hummus, and gourmet sandwiches, and french fries cooked in 100% pure corn oil.

"It is super important to serve what I call 'clean food'.  We avoid chemical-laden ingredients and try to source our offerings from locals whenever possible.  With there being so much great traditional Mexican food in San Pancho, we strive to offer a unique menu of delicious, memorable food."  - Paula

Great IPA, a tasty one you might find in Northern California. Friendly staff, quick service, and music at night,..... what more would you want? Yes they had food but I didn't eat, I did see a side of French fries come out that looked large enough for 3 people. Off the main road which was a plus for me. My only regret was that they opened earlier than 5pm, it's Mexico for crying out loud!

This place is awesome! We are from Colorado and know what good craft beer should taste like. This place definitely has good craft beer! We tried their IPA, hazy IPA and stout and couldn’t decide our favorite as they were all great! The french fries and dried hummus was also yummy. It’s a bit off the beaten path with outdoor seating and nice neighborhood. If you are in the area and like good beer -> GO!

Nice location just a few blocks from the beach. Without a doubt they serve the best beer I’ve had in Mexico. We tried an IPA (nice hop aroma and a west coast feel), a hazy IPA (just like juice!) and a delicious stout. They don’t make their own beers but have a nice rotation from craft brewers that they know. The owner was fun to talk to and the other staff were very helpful. Delicious French fries and a sundried tomato hummus plate. Highly recommended if in the area!

Hip little tap room featuring artisanal ales, and masterfully crafted cocktails. It features a small tasting room, and outdoor tables with nightly live music. Staff are fun and friendly, with attentive service. We look forwards to our next visit.

Awesome spot in San Pancho for live local music and artisan local mescal/tequila. Also they have a small but great selection of local craft brews.

I absolutely adored this little craft beer & live music shop. Live music is played here every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday night. The musicians are great, and the vibes are super chill & happy. The servers are just fantastic as well! The beers served here rotate often since they’re all locally made in small batches. They have a small menu that is great for appetizers, but they also have some larger meal items like burgers. If you don’t like beer, they have a list of delicious cocktails. My personal favorite drink is their non-alcoholic house made Kombucha. This is a must try!! Food: - Cheese plate: This is a large portion size to share with several people. It’s served with 5 different cheeses, olives, grapes, almonds, apples, bread, & honey all nicely plated on a cutting board. - Sundried tomato hummus: This hummus really surprised me! Everyone in my group LOVED this. It had so much flavor & was served with some crackers. We came here 4 times over the course of a week, so I’d definitely say that we loved it :)

Great beer, poor food. We had the burger (undercooked and strange tasting) and a stew sandwich on a bun (bland and soaked the bread). The music playlist was top-par which makes sense as our server was mostly focused on picking his next song instead of providing us cutlery or checking in on our meal. Have your dinner elsewhere (Arigato down the street was excellent!) and enjoy the drinks here. Edited per owner’s request.
