Be ready to walk for about two hours or more amongst cacti and big rocks. The place is peaceful, and interesting, a good place to visit if you are in San Miguel.

What a wonderful place. A great walk around the canyon.. did you know there is a canyon so close? Magnificent huge cati. A Mexican Stonehenge labyrinth? A new gift shop. And there is a resturant. 30 min outside of SMA.

Great park for a walk. 50 pesos entrance fee, lots of different paths to follow, and very varied terrain with desert, lake, and small canyon. Recommended trip to escape the restaurants/churches and boutique shops in San Miguel. It's walkable from the town center.

A great place to walk / hike but the paths are dusty and the whole area is very dry (mostly due to the end of dry season). There’s a nice variety of cacti and the lake was all dried up so not too much to see. Maybe in rainy season it’s greener and prettier.

This place was great, not only was it affordable but we really enjoyed the hike and the fresh air. Some people mentioned walking from the city center but I don’t recommend it unless your ready to be tired when you get there. Just park directly at the location or get a taxi to drive you up there. Also it can be a bit challenging for kids and the elderly so I wouldn’t recommend making the full circle. I would say to at least cross the mini dam since it was the most beautiful thing there. I also loved the abandoned villa with its ancient oven. The entrance was very nice and it had well kept bathrooms inside as well. Lastly, I would recommend bringing a bottle of water and to add some sunscreen.

This place is so worth it! At first you think it's going to be just some out buildings with cactus samples inside, the dirt trails seem very low end, but once you get down near the lake edge and beyond you will see the most beautiful landscape along the dam and the beautiful rocky cliffs and a giant old aqueduct from who knows how long ago, the remains of an old mill from the 1500s!!! I even saw a juvenile Black crown night heron just sitting in a tree next to the path if you didn't notice him you'd walk right by. Make sure you go all the way in!

This beautiful botanical garden is a must if cactus and succulents are your favorite plants. Is a quiet place to have a walk immersed in nature with stunning views of San Miguel de Allende. I recommend getting there by walking from the city center, it's 30 minutes away with some elevation but you will have the privilege to admire some of the most beautiful colonial villas of the city.

Beautiful botanical garden. About 30 min walk from city center. Going is all up hill and pretty steep or take a taxi. Walk is through a very nice upscale neighborhood and beautiful houses. It’s a great place for a slow walk or nice hike. The grounds are very pretty. Lot of cacti and succulents. Very clean and well kept. Nice cafeteria for a cold drink and snack after a long walk. Pleasant staff and nice store with some art work and cacti for sale. Great peaceful getaway from the city. Very natural and peaceful , pretty canyon and lake at the bottom of trail.
