Chatterley's Restaurant and Bar - 45900 Chapala

What a charming restaurant, located within one of the most historic properties in Chapala. While dining it is easy to imagine you are there in the 1930s, with a wealthy cattle rancher and a famous poet seated at the next table debating the issues of the day. The history in the buildings and the grounds comes to life. The menu offers a wide variety of options, including vegan and gluten-free options. For those of us without dietary restrictions the menu is decadent. Don't miss mixing the cream soups. There are pepper, cilantro and broccoli cream soups. Try mixing them to make the most wonderful taste combinations. Also do not miss the specialty smoothies and the house-made ice cream. The ice cream took me back to a little gelato shop in Florence. That's how good it was. You can't go wrong eating at Chatterley's. I'd like to return, be a guest in the hotel and enjoy the ambiance of the property as a diner and a guest. You will forget which century you are living in while at Chatterley's.

This is such a pleasant place located in VILLA Q & Q. The food is excellent. The service is perfect, always attentive. They respect and abide by covid protocols.

Just WOW. The place is beautifully decorated with a gorgeous courtyard. The staff is friendly & attentive. The food. OMG. I had the poached eggs with spinach and my BFF had the GF bubble waffle. Prices were very reasonable considering how much the same would cost in the US. It’s really hard to find GF breads in Mexico and this was an absolute delight. Would definitely do again.

Small, intimate setting, good service, OK food Chatterley's is one of those small patio restaurants that litter the Chapala/Ajijic area. It's a comfortable, quiet kind of place that's instantly likeable. Service is attentive. but somewhat on the slow side. Food is a mixed bag. While the broccolli soup was an absolute work of art, the shrimp tempura tacos were decidedly average. Overall it's a pleasant place for lunch, but I can think of half a dozen better ones, off the top of my head.

Sunday Mother's Day 2022 was not crowded. Three delicious dishes served. Great service. Great location across from parking lot on Zaragoza. Hamburger with pineapple and bacon, pasta any way you like it, and a special plate hosting 3 burritos each stuffed with a variety. A menu of smoothies and vocktsils. Open for breakfast at 8 am.
