Che Holbox Hostel & Bar - 77730 Holbox

I really enjoyed being in the Che hostel! The hostel is really near to the ferry but also to the beach. The staff is really nice, always smiling, always kind... they’re more than only staff they become friends. The food is very good, the parties at night are perfect. The hostel is very clean and nothing is missing. Thanks to Manon, Justine, James, Stefano, Felippe and Lalo for their kindness. Hope to be there soon again,

The hostel is located on the bad side of the island. In rainy days the road is full of trash, smells like sewage and trash everywhere. Also because of the heavy rain the room flooded and our backpacks and bags with computers etc. were totally wet. When complaints where shared with the staff they redirected us all to someone 'in charge'. Nobody was ably to give us a solution and the person in charge was never at the hostel.. I don't know if he even existed. We were leaving the next day (with wet backpacks with wet clothes). They told us we would be contacted to resolve the issue but they never did. We were told we would be compensated but we never got our money back. I have not been able to get any response from anyone working at the hostel. Very unprofessional staff.

A party hostel ( music till midnight) where everyday something is organized. The place to be if you hang out, drink and learn new people. I stayed 6 nights and i had a blast.

We paid more than 400 US dollars!!!! For a couple for two nights with a broken bathroom, no hot water and flicking light. We ask to leave after one night and they didn't let us! In addition loud music until the middle of the night with no ability to sleep. Spoke to the manager and she doesn't care and doesn't answer my email. Don't go there.

Like sleeping in a nightclub. Music goes on until 12am every night VERY loudly, after which you have the dregs of drunk people chatting until they finally leave around 12:30/1am and you can finally sleep. Gasolina is often the song of choices as is Calvin Harris’s back catalogue. The ‘fun’ is forced on you as soon as you arrive, when shots are poured down your throat and you are expected to participate in games, where forfeits are dancing on the bar. Beds are uncomfortable but air conditioning is good and shampoo/ conditioner is provided in private rooms. The location is ok, albeit a 10 min walk from the centre (close to the port where the ferry comes in)

We hadn’t much issues with the hostel. Water was working, air con was working and not loud and it was still active during night. Ppl were funny and if you are looking for everyday activities and party you are fine to go there. But if not it’s probably not your location. Party stops at Midnight at weekend and at Sunday it was at 11pm (not sure if it’s the same at mo-th). you hear everything when you are staying in your room. Just to mention that, if you wanna go to bed early it won’t work :P Prices were ok, cocktails weren’t that good (the 2 we had), stayed with beer.

An expensive hostel with prices fluctuating to ridiculous prices which ironically backpackers cannot afford. However, sometimes you get lucky and get it for a decent rate. The Dutch receptionist was friendly and the hostel was clean and had a good vibe, people were friendly. The cocktails are some of the worst I've ever had - some of the bartenders don't know what they are doing - especially at happy hour. I ordered two of the same thing and got completely different looking and tasting cocktails. Loud music is played all day as with most Ches and there are usually parties at night. It is not Covid friendly - after the recent 10th birthday party, loads of people tested positive for coronavirus apparently. The wifi works well and is probably the best on the island. The beach is a 10-15 minute walk away (a bit longer if the roads are flooded which they usually are1). Avoid the breakfast, it is expensive and not worth it - there are plenty of better local options.

This was a great hostel! I spend two weeks in Holbox but only the last three days at Che, and those last three days were the best! A special thank you to Victoria for making the reservation process so easy and helping me with all the questions I had, I will definitely be visiting other Che Hostels In the future
