★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a genuine craft brewery. It all starts with the best water that they filter and condition in house. The ales are true to the style. I tried several styles including IPA, pale, Porter and wheat. Living in the Pacific Northwest and traveling to breweries all across the USA. I’ve tasted some really good ales over the past 30 years and the ales produced by Akumal taste just as good as many well known craft breweries in the US.A. It was definitely refreshing to taste authentic ales after weeks of only having traditional Mexican beer. Alex was very helpful and knowledgeable. He also mentioned that they will be opening a restraint / pub / bar on or near 5th ave in the a couple of months. I can’t wait to go there next time I’m in Playa.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is absolutely fantastic. Alex and his wife Carina are incredibly friendly and the beers are nothing short of impressive. When we came by we had a little difficulty finding it due to lack of signage, but it's inside the orange building with a white garage and white door.
I cannot recommend this place more for anyone who has a passion for beer or brewing.
