★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I dined at Chile y Maíz with friends on Feb 11 at 6pm. The place is brightly painted and welcoming. Be sure to start with their delicious Jamaica Margarita; you'll probably want two.
The menu offers a wide variety and everything we ordered from nachos to huge hamburgers to Alambres Arrachera was wonderful. Prices are very reasonable. Dining upstairs under the beautiful palapa with a gentle breeze made it even more special. Calle Ibis about mid block off of Avenida Rueda Medina in the old Bobo's Dos building. 4 stars instead of 5 because the stairs curve and need another handrail.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great rooftop restaurant with a small bar. Breezy as well as a pretty view of the sunset along with a tiny glimpse of the Cancun city lights.
Coconut shrimp was delicious served with a Mango habanero sauce for dipping and julienne veggies. Pina colada was refreshing as well. Service was delightful and attentive as they checked on us 3-4 times.
Go, you won't be sorry! The steps are steep and kind of tricky as they have a slight spiral. I wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility issues.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was recommended to this place by some ex-pats. Great Mexican food, friendly service, and the price is right compared to many of the places in the more touristy part of the island. My tostada was only 30 pesos...why not throw one in with my tacos? In 3 visits, I got Pastor tacos, a tostada, a mocajete, and a burger. They also had fried chicken sandwiches that looked good as well as good seafood my family got but I didn't try. The dining area is a nice covered, but open on the sides open area. They even asked if i wanted to wait or if they should deliver when I walked in a take out order. Only downside is that the kitchen has limited staff, and so if they are busy, you might wait for main courses to arrive. I did fail to get a picture of the menu.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped In Here For Dinner During My Stay And Let Me Tell You This May Have Been My Favorite Meal All Week. The Prices Are Good And The Food Is Even Better. The Staff Is Friendly And The Environment Is Very Nice. My Only Con Is The Closing Time, I Wish They Were Open A Little Later. I 100% Recommend This Spot To Anyone Looking For A Great Meal At A Great Price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great food and friendly people. Nice place tucked back in the neighborhood. Huge burrito, delicious Jamaica margarita, homemade fries and tortillas were just a few of the highlights. Reasonable prices. We would be regulars if we lived here.
Be aware it is upstairs, and the stairs are a little steep.
