★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My family and I came here while on vacation and the food was excellent! My mother's salmon was to die for and my Huarache Oaxaqueño was flavorful and delicious! I only give 4 stars because the sales people selling their artisanal crafts while your eating was a bit annoying.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mayordomo Chocolate Factory is on LA Calle 20 de Noviembre, across the street from my hotel. I couldn't understand it. There are Mayordomo stores everywhere on Oaxaca. It's as if they were in a race with OXXO to put a store every few feet. And there are different types and sizes of Mayordomos, some focus on coffee, some focus on pan, and others do everything and even have big restaurants.
The places that interested me are those with industrial grinders used to grind cocoa beans and mix the cacoa with whatever, usually almond bits and cinnamon. I walked into this store one night to see what was going on with all this chocolate (cacoa products). A muchacha explained to me that Oaxaca is famous for its chocolate. She suggested I buy some kilos of the stuff.
These places that grind chocolate also produce mole, the salsa.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an amazing Mocha coffee drink. Staff was professional and attentive. The shop has a restaurant in the back. Definitely a higher quality dining experience. We didn’t eat anything but really enjoyed the drinks, service and ambiance that this place had to offer. The staff in the kitchen made our mocha drinks with care and precision, it was amazing to watch and lovely to see the pride they take in the product they sell. The shop has free mole tastings and you can buy mole paste here to take home. This is the best place to buy mole paste if you’re traveling international since it has a label and ingredients listed.
