Just loved it, great service, great rooms, great price. Arrive before 8 PM because the parking lot next door closes. Restaurants, sights and nightlife are 50 meters away. Zacatecas suffers novohispanic and andalucian illness, while driving if you miss the spot you are looking for you gonna drive in circles 10 to 20 minutes trying to find your way back in really narrow streets.

The high ratings must apply only to the dormitories. My private room was only okay, but the private bath was less than. It was damp and moldy. The shower drainage was stopped up. The bathroom supplies turned out to be only toilet paper and a soap dispenser over the sink. The towels were tiny, thin and dingy (since they were white- a good bleaching would help). Even though painfully thin, the towels couldn't dry out. Sound & light from the shared dormitory bathroom entered through the bathroom window. The room was spare and bare, but fine except for the perpetual dampness-- though the portable fan helped some with the humidity. The historical building itself was lovely as was the decor in the lobby. The staff (except for one woman) was very pleasant and friendly (though not very knowledgeable). The kitchen was nice and clean. However the water dispenser was usually empty and there was no silverware! The next day, there was a plastic fork and one sad knife. Small fridge for so many people. The best part was the excellent location! 5* for the location. The price for a private room-- well, for just 40 pesos more I found a gorgeous, clean room a block away with no dampness, a lovely bathroom and good soaps, shampoos and nice big WHITE towels...and a window for air circulation plus ceiling fan. Again, dormitories might be great, but the private room was not a good value.

Nice hotel, very sweet staff and even the cleaning lady always smiles. The only funny thing is that in the kitchen they only have a microwave so to make tea that's where you have to boil water. Strongly suggest them to get a kettle ?

I hesitated between a 2 and a 3, here’s why: Pros: location (awesome), price (budget friendly), room is big and nice Cons: lots of noise due to very bad sound isolation - there was no real door in the room, just old wooden gates so we couldn’t sleep because we heard bells ringing all night long in the entrance, guests entering etc. Cleanliness of the shared bathroom, moldy scent :/ they should add ventilation Dire lack of facilities usually found in a budget hostel: no stove, no cutlery, no boiler - you can try heating up water in the microwave but that’s about it. Lots of potential, but it’s obviously been neglected.

A beautifully restored colonial building just 100m from the Catedral and 5 min walking to dozens of bars, restos and shops in the center. The beds are really comfy, it was quiet at night, but ask the staff to turn on the hot water before using the shower. The kitchen is the only indoor common area, and only has a fridge and a microwave. One of the 2 wifi networks was not working during my stay, but I was able to work by sitting next to the doors in the kitchen.
