Fue fundado en el año de 1980 Ofrece Maestría en Ciecias en Producción Agrícola Sustentable, Doctorado en Ciencias en Conservación del Patrimonio Paisajístico, se llevan acabo en sus laboratorios y aulas diferentes investigaciones de Jiquilpan y la región. En sus instalaciones se albergan fotografías de Enrique A. Cervantes, se encuentra un mural del Artista y Muralista Roberto Cueva del Río (Discípulo del gran Artista Muralista Diego Rivera) La fuente fue creada por el Artista en Escultura Federico Canessi a encargo del General Lázaro Cárdenas en los años 30's antes de la fundación del CIIDIR. (Se puede encontrar otro mural del Artista y Muralista Roberto Cueva de Río en la Escuela Urbana Federal Primaria Francisco I. Madero, de la misma manera se pueden encontrar otras fuentes del Artista en Escultura Federico Canessi en diferentes lugares de Jiquilpan como lo son la Aguadora en la Plaza Colon, el Zalate frente al Mercado Zaragoza, los Gallitos en la Glorieta del Gallito, los Cantaritos en la esquina de las calles Aquiles Serdán y Lázaro Cárdenas, la de las palomas en la casa natal del General Lázaro Cárdenas) Interdisciplinary Research Center for the Integral Regional Development of the Michoacan Unit of the National Polytechnic Institute in its acronym IPN. It was founded in the year 1980 It offers a Master's Degree in Sustainable Agricultural Production, a Doctorate in Sciences in Conservation of the Landscape Heritage, different investigations of Jiquilpan and the region are carried out in its laboratories and classrooms. In its facilities there are photographs of Enrique A.
