★ ★ ★ ★ ★ San Carlos es una bahía que tiene unas vistas impresionantes y una de ellas es la Cima de Pico Alto, ubicado en la zona de la Manga 2.
Para acceder a esta cima, se accede por el camino al "Rancho palofierro"(indicado en Gmaps), a mitad del camino hay una desviación que dirige hasta la falda de este esta cima, el camino es muy transitable pero se recomienda ir en un auto con altura, porque hay muchas piedras sobresalientes en el camino.
El inicio lo marca una cueva (cueva leonera) que está a la mitad del cerro, visible desde el camino.
No es una ruta muy complicada si se tiene alguna experiencia en senderismo de lo contrario contrata los servicios de un guía. Son muchas crestas las hay que recorrer para llegar a la cima y en el 95% del camino no hay sombra, por lo que el ascenso se recomienda solo hacerlo en época de invierno, llevando suficiente agua, suero, protección contra los rayos de sol y calzado con buen agarre.
El camino de retorno es muy complicado por las características de suelo, que en muchas partes hay gravilla o piedras sueltas las cuales no es tan complicado subirlas pero al momento de bajar, se deslizan fácilmente.
