About Cinética (Formerly Hacienda de La Costa)
Having long dreamed of raising our family in a small beach community in a different country, Sayulita spoke to us in ways that few places have. Our desire to live here was immediate. Less clear was how to make that happen!
When we met Steve and Terri, retired expats whose vision and commitment built Hacienda de La Costa into the jewel that it is, the connection was clear. Respecting what they had created, yet wanting the small hotel to reflect our personality and imagination, we have re-christened it Cinetica (Spanish for “Kinetic”); energy through motion.
We hope you love visiting us as much as we will love hosting you, inviting you into our small slice of paradise, and sharing with you why we chose Sayulita for our family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are so happy we found Hacienda De La Costa and decided to spend our week there. The beautiful grounds, rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens are so well maintained - everything is in top shape. Beds are comfortable!! A beautiful beach is a 10 min walk, and you’ll be the only ones there! They have towels, chairs, umbrellas, ice chest, boogie boards - everything you need for a beach day. Sunsets are gorgeous from the beach and from the pool, there is a great ocean view from the patios. Steve and Terri are great hosts, helpful with recommendations, arranging a cab to town or a boat adventure, and Terri’s breakfasts are sooo delicious. We were happy to be far enough from sayulita to relax out of the tourist flow when we wanted, but close enough to enjoy this fun little Mexican town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't want your Mexico beach experience to be overrun with crowds, vendors, and noise? This is your pace. I went to to the beach four days and saw a total of two dozen people total. Most of those were in the distance. The beach, water, jungle, coastline caves, and locals make this a top spot to visit, if you want the ultimate peaceful getaway. The accommodations are excellent. The bed, bath, kitchen, and balconies are well equipped and excellent quality. Views of the Ocean and sounds of crashing surf were abundant from my room. Steve and Teri are fantastic. They took care of everything. Steve is such fun to talk with, and pointed me in the right direction for things to do. Each morning, Teri prepared a knock out breakfast. I am vegetarian and she accommodated that with ease. I found that breakfast was so filling, I only ate one other meal each day. Word will continue to spread about this place and it is already challenging to get a reservation. I plan to come back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I just returned from our third stay at the Hacienda de la Costa!
When you think of a Bed and Breakfast, a house with a bunch of bedrooms normally comes to mind. This place is so much more than a Bed and Breakfast! Each room is a private little "casita" with its own balcony/entrance, huge bedroom, and tiled bathroom. Most have their own kitchen as well.
Terri makes the most wonderful breakfast each morning, served poolside. Steve is the margarita master and shows you how to make your own as soon as you arrive! I have since used this recipe many times and everyone LOVES it :)
The house is the perfect distance from the town of Sayulita, walking through the jungle about 40-45 minutes. Our afternoon/evening walk to town became our favorite thing to do. We would eat at one of the wonderful restaurants, walk around town, have some drinks and get a taxi back home at each night.
Semi-private beaches are within a 10 minute walk, and Steve and Terri have everything you need to enjoy the day at the beach (chairs, coolers, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc). Walking down to enjoy the sunset is a MUST! I figured out a way to make the margaritas to go! The black sand beach is also beautiful, and can be accessed by a little side-trail on the way to town.
Steve and Terri have a crew of friendly rescue dogs that will make you feel at home! Garbo went to the beach with us and spent the afternoon sleeping by our chairs, then happily joined us for the walk back to the house. What a sweet girl. The kittens are adorable, always scampering around and climbing the trees. While you are lazing around by the pool, you get this wonderful entertainment as a bonus!
I cannot say enough great things about this wonderful place! We are already dreaming about our fourth trip to Hacienda de la Costa we will take next winter!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed here this past February and had the most wonderful and relaxing time. Hacienda is the perfect combination of a quiet hideaway with secluded, private beaches and a lively surfer town just a short walk away. We spent most days with a home cooked, authentic breakfast made by Terri - followed by some quiet pool time. We would then venture off to one of the many private beaches within a 10-15 min walk from the property. The beaches are pristine and there were barely ever anybody there, perfect for relaxing! During nights we would walk into town (35-45 min walk) which included awesome trails through the jungle, much of which is well maintained and safe. We'd then enjoy a night out in the hustle and bustle of Sayulita, great food and culture! We would 100% come back to the Hacienda, it was such a special place with many furry companions and the most gracious of hosts. Thank you Steve and Terry, we hope to see you soon!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was our second visit to the Hacienda and it will not be our last. If you are looking for a romantic getaway just for couples, this is the place for you.
Terri and Steve are fantastic hosts. Terri's breakfasts are incredible (waiting for the cookbook)! Is the kitten named Chiquita?
Steve is a most gracious host and even took time to drive us into town one day and to the very beautiful secluded beach.
The staff are unobtrusive and extremely efficient. Our room was cleaned daily to high standards and Pepe drove us to the beach access.
We love the 4 legged hosts as well.
Beautiful surroundings, gorgeous sunsets and starry nights!
Thank you all!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dog lovers, people seeking quiet, delicious breakfast every morning,
lovers of beautiful sunsets, private beach lovers...this is your spot!
Cannot recommend this place enough.
From Terri's easy communication and setting up my ride from the airport,
to Steve setting up a boat trip to the Marietta Islands, and then some...
Hacienda de la Costa ROCKS! They have you covered.
I had the pleasure of staying 10 days - had the most delicious home-made breakfast every morning, (Terri - I want the cookbook!), a clean room every day, swam in the pool, slept, read, re-energized.
Pure heaven.
The 40 minute walk to town was gorgeous.
Terri and Steve are there to help you out - whether calling for a taxi,
directing you to the private beach, making you a welcome margarita,
or simply a chat around the pool, if you so desire.
They are lovely.
Not to mention that they have a knack for selecting the most awesome people. Guaranteed you will make friends at the breakfast table!
I know I'll be going back. Again and again.
See you soon Terri & Steve! xoxox
