★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hotel. You will never expect that looking at it from the outside but the place is clean and the staff is quite nice and polite. It is equivalent to a Holiday Inn Express. It is not a "trendy" place, but it I certainly a good option to stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pros: Lovely helpful staff, relaxed environment. Free evening snack at the lobby with tequila in the selection! :) Free Non-stop working coffee machine and tea selection (with a good espresso in the selection near the americano). Organic (made from corn) cutlery and plates. Nice breakfast selection.
Cons: Not possible to open any window in the rooms - only can relay on the air conditioner - which I was unable to control: I needed to ask at the reception to set a lower degree because it was too hot in my room, 26°C during the night.
Altogether it was lovely, I would recommend it, close bus stops, safe neighbourhoods to walk and shop around.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel was not as nice as the last City Express we stayed at. The room was clean and the staff pleasant. The location is right in the middle of the University district, with shopping nearby and a controlled access parking lot. However, the split unit air conditioner whined and buzzed all night long, and in addition, some very loud low frequency mechanical hum could be clearly heard almost a block away at the Oxxo. So obviously if you are interested in a quiet night for sleep, you may wish to choose somewhere else until whatever issue is going on there is resolved. I normally dont post negatives like these, I usually just reflect my disappointment with the star rating, but this time was different because I needed to be rested for an early departure for a day-long drive to my next destination.
