★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Laundry prices are completely outrageous! Waiters and overall restaurant attention is very lacking, unreasonable strict lodging rules, not recommended at all!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome service, everything is clean and neat. The room is big enough. It's not really expensive and the breakfast was ok too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dirty. No English. Poorly Trained Staff. Lazy Workers.
Elaboration: This hotel is similar to a low budget hotel in the USA. This was my second stay in CdC...first stay was at Hampton Inn (which was like The Four Seasons compared to this City Express hotel). Arrived to staff staring at cell phones and chatting with each other - and trying to check in was not a good idea. Interrupting them was offensive and no one spoke English. Lobby had very dirty chairs and couches (stains, unsightly). Flies and mosquitos buzzing around during my entire stay. Elevator key access works about once every 10 swipes, so getting to the room was a chore. In the room - dirty/stained comforter, no top sheet, basic room with small TV, no refrigerator, no safe, very coldly decorated, furniture was below Ikea standards. Wifi sucked - provided key didn't work, no one spoke English when calling front desk for help, had to go downstairs and fight through language barriers to get a new key. Speed of Wifi was deplorable...could have something to do with every employee being on their smartphones 24/7. Soap and shampoo are very budget. Second day...room key stopped working on room door, had to go get programmed again (like it was only set for one day)...again having to interrupt social hour at the main desk...seems to be where all of the employees hang out and play with each other. Housekeeping cleaned the room but took ALL of my towels and didn't replace them...another painful call to Spanish-only help to try to get more towels. Breakfast was basic and acceptable for low budget clients - but not something most would want to eat...especially with all of the flying insects everywhere. Television in breakfast area is huge, but mounted on a pole about 5 feet in the air - so it is a dangerous hazard for smashing your face into it...and it is in the foot traffic area...not safe. Most hotels have signs in rooms to offer free toiletry items (razors, toothpaste, etc.) if you've forgotten something. In this hotel, the sign says in essence "visit our vending machine to purchase what you've forgotten"...how nice of them. There are better places to stay on the island (Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn) and although this hotel is right across from the beach, it is not worth the small savings vs. the other hotels in the area...Will not return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fairly standard business hotel, that being said the rooms are confortable and though the breakfast is quite basic it is fine. My only real complaint was the gym as the treadmill was not working.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a good place to stay, affordable, great staff who are very helpful, and breakfast in the mornings, wifi, etc. The accommodations aren't extravagant but everything you need is provided. Its also well located, there are a couple places to eat or grab a drink right next door to the hotel and you can see the beach through the front windows. Nothing to complain about.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Run-of-the-mill chain hotel. Biggest issue is lack of any fresh air circulation, smells/tastes very stale.
