City Tour - 97320 Progreso

Went on a cruise with Carnival cruise lines on the triumph and the boat was a bit dated for me I really expected. We cruised to Cozumel and Yucatan. And honestly I think Yucatan should be taken off the cruise list it was my first time there and it was very sad. I'm not sure if this is one of their older boats but it needs to be retired. The staff was very nice and helpful the food was just okay they've taken the refrigerator is out of the room they've also cut back on Lobster night. It was very disappointing.

Progesso. My experience wasn't so great. It appears to be a growing port and I understand that. However, when we were dropped off at the bus stop and walked the few blocks to the free beach; it was difficult to see how poor these people are. I saw so many police on this short walk. We reached the beach and was approached by a man offering a table with 1 picnic size umbrella, 8 chairs, 2 baskets of chips, salsa and 8 shots for $40. We bargained for another umbrella to keep us all out of the sun. After some haggling, we got it. The basket of chips consisted of 2 sandwich baggies filled with about 10-15 chips. Well, at least we got to sit for 2 hours. I wish that I would have seen the beautiful sites others had posted. It's not on my list to return to any time soon.

I think the tour of progreso was both scenic and informative. Tour guide Marianna was very knowledgeable of the city and it's history. She did an excellent presentation. Bus driver Pedro was good as well. Excellent value excursion to see some real Mexico.

We love cruising on Carnival.

Worth the money only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because carnival cancelled shore excursion the day of. Was a let down

Great cheap way to take a quick tour of Progresso. $9 for about an hour or so of driving around with a knowledgeable local. The tour stop is centrally located. You can walk, shop and eat all from here.
