Best handmade gorditas in Guanajuato! You will enjoy the food very, very much. The orange juice is hand made from 2.5 oranges, and is delicious. I see all 5 star reviews, except for one. You should completely ignore the one star review, since it is completely out of synchronization with other reviews. It's near enough to the university to walk to it, and it's directly across from a beautiful park where you can stretch your legs after you've eaten. Prices start at about $15 for one gordita (or, about 80 cents US), two gorditas is enough for the average person. I eat 3 or 4 each time I visit, and I ALWAYS drink the hand-pressed orange juice. The staff and owners are very kind and sociable, and the level of quality of the hand made gorditas is unmatched in the whole state, as far as I have seen. Enjoy!

Very nice people attending, Wonderful mexican meals, a real mexican food taste, all the meals are home made and real time, it has very accesible low costs for people that does not have many money to spend, it is a place you must eat at when visit Guanajuato, you will want come back eating there many times after the first time.

Stayed at nearby Indigo Hotel, and walked ~50 steps towards the tunnel to a great food experience. Highly recommended for authentic Mexican breakfast. Handmade gordita, filled with tasty chicken, cheese, onions & tomatoes. One was enough for me; but maybe you want 2 for a big appetite. Hand-pressed orange juice (it was easily 16-20 oz!), and surprisingly really good coffee (sugar was provided, but bring ur own cream pkg if u need it). All for MX$50 (~US$2.50). Please leave a LARGE tip! Nice lady there, and she was patient with my poor Spanish. Not much room there to eat inside. She packed everything nicely to go, and I ate in my hotel room. It was cold outside, but the nearby park would have been excellent place to sit and eat. She opens the door at ~8 am. I arrived at 8:20, and I left with food ~8:50. She prepares everything carefully by hand, so give her time. Go there. You will love the taste and experience.
