★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This experience at this restaurant was one of the best I have ever had. The waiters were very talkative and we had no service issues despite me and family not speaking English. When we ordered flambe the chef even offered me and brother the opportunity to make it with his instruction. He was very kind and he showed us through the steps of making the dish. Afterwards he even wrote down the recipe for us. Overall a wonderful experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Posting less favorable review after response from Coconuts to our poor service was answered with a statement that the night was busy. We were one of the first tables to arrive and were left unserved while other tables were served. In fact, other tables noticed that we were not receiving service and our dessert arrived long after many tables were served before us, and had arrived for dinner after us. I suggested that two women travelling alone might have been the issue. How else to explain that only our table had such a poor experience. Yes, the food and ambience was good but as solo women travellers I would be wary.
The attached will demonstrate that the restaurant was not busy when we arrived.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If I could give Coconuts six stars... I would! Everything about our experience was positive. The service was great and the food was even better. It is pricey, but we knew that prior to sitting down. If you want a classy night out, DO NOT MISS COCONUTS!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Top restaurant in Zihuatanejo I highly recommend it. I loved the Coconut shrimp and my cocktail. The crepe Suzette was to die for - done by a sous-chef "flambé" by the table. Quite a spectacular show!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been enjoying Coconuts for years - always a guaranteed great experience. Sadly, this year our experiences have been poor to outrageously bad. After three separate evenings spanning over 6-8 weeks, I simply cannot recommend this place.
Last night the music was great (Jose Cabo), but, it is just wrong to have to wait 3 hours (not an exaggeration) for our dinner. We had a party of 8 people and even after talking to the manager several times, nothing was done to get the service back on track. The manager either needs a wake up call or a new profession.
So, if you want a great evening with stellar food and service, I suggest Tentaciones.

The service was very excellent - friendly, quick.
I got coco shrimp, one of their house specialties. The shrimp weren’t very good. They were over-breaded and you could taste flour. I’ve had much better.
My wife had dorado that was wrapped in banana leaves. Presentation was good but she said it was over-cooked and only ate about a third of the meal.
All in all very average food.
The thing that really got me was the price. Both meals were $585 pesos each. That is so far out of line for meals in all of our travels throughout Mexico. That would all be fine but the food just wasn’t really that good anyway.
Would not go back
