★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited Playa del Carmen on a number of occasions and stayed in a variety of hotels and condos. The Shore is by far the best of all of them.
The building is new, modern and well decorated. We stayed in a two-bedroom condo that was spacious, a reliable WiFi and was relatively quiet.
The rooftop lounge and pool have one of the best views of the Caribbean. Excellent pizzas! Enjoyed a massage at the spa and used the gym each day.
Will definitely go back to The Shore.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If i could put negative 5 stars i would. First off I would like to say I am from Vegas and know what good hospitality is and what is not. When checking in we had the option to put deposit on a credit card or 1000 pesos cash. We chose cash ....We had 2 basic rooms. It was ok but very small and only had one towel in the room. Bed was very hard. Now my main issue was check out day. (we only stayed one night in hotel)...Before we went to check out my group and I went to get coffee besides one person stayed back, when we left hotel, the cleaning people ran to our room, trying to get into both rooms(we had 2). When confronted with a member from our group that stayed behind they asked her are we checking out, it’s 830 am and check out was noon. We never said to anyone we were checking out! I seemed as if they were trying to go to room and see what they could take. Rob us. That’s at least what it looked like! So we got back to hotel and I went downstairs to check out and return the keys she said “ok we need housekeeping to go up and check rooms to make sure they are ok”. Ok 5 min past, then 30... so I went up to desk asking if they were done. We Needed to get to airport. She said “ ma’am first room was ok. Second room was not, a towel is dirty. “..I said “aren’t towels supposed to get dirty?” And she said...”no this take special washer to get clean and it will cost 400 pesos .” At this point I’m upset I feel this place is trying to get To get over on us and make up some crazy rule about towels to keep money! I said ok just give me my change so we can leave please.. she was taking her sweet time after knowing we Needed to leave to airport ...: she tried calling maid to show us towel because I said that’s crazy that they wanted to charge us for a dirty towel. Finally I said keep the 500 and give me back 500 pesos so we can go. I said I would be writing a review and that’s when minutes later she gave me back the 1000 pesos deposit. I would never stay here again. I stayed at IT hotel close to this hotel. Way better. This hotel should be shut down .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good hotel - it’s new so don’t worry that there aren’t many reviews yet. Check in was easy, staff friendly, and the pool upstairs very relaxing. Just a little strange that they clean the rooms in the evening (so there were a number of nights when our room wasn’t cleaned cause we were inside already). Would stay here again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was lured into booking this hotel by the fantastic rating offered. However I would never come back and regret my decision in staying here. While the building is new and is furnished well, the service is terrible. I understand that things go wrong because it is a busy period and that there is a shortage of staff but we were deprived of basic services. No toilet paper, no towels, no tissues, no soap, rubbish bin was overflowing, room was stained with sand from the beach, occasional hot water. I complained several times and was lied on multiple of occasions that it will all be fixed once we arrive home. I contacted Expedia to let them know about the matter. They tried to contact you five times and this representative claimed that the front office keeps disconnecting the line and that he can’t get through to the management. How do you expect to have your guests live in a such a place? I’m sure I’m one of many with the same problem occurring at this place. I paid for such a service for 10 nights! No housekeeping was supplied. By day four I couldn’t wait to get out of here. My biggest regret is that I could have booked an alternative location.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love this place. It's right in the middle of everything, 5th is one block away, the beach is only a five minute walk. The staff are so helpful and accommodating. The pool is super nice and open till 930pm. The food is also really good. Sybil and Omar are amazing.. as well as all the staff are. I can't wait to go back there.. thank you everyone for making our stay there incredible..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a beautiful hotel, but they just had a change over of some sort, all the front desk staff is new and incredibly rude and inept. Be careful even if you arrive at 2pm I had to wait until 5pm to check in, the entire hotel was empty with maybe 2-3 other guests, and they refused to upgrade me to a better room. There is issues with noise, and most importantly they falsely advertised about having the spa being accessible to guests, they’ve just shut the door and closed it, and even when I tried to book a spa appointment to use the facilities, the therapist had apparently mysteriously come down with a serious illness.
Based on the level of service and how much their service actually manages to inspire anger, I wouldn’t pay more than 25 dollars for it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel is nice it self but very bad managed. We did not have toilet paper for 3 days we have been there. The reception closes at 11:00 pm and nobody at night beside than a security guy that does not speak English and don’t even know where a piece of toilet paper is. Our safe did not work for over 24 hours and I had to make 3 complaints to get it replaced. No apology from anyone. I have seen few bugs in the corridor to our room. The toilet did not flush properly. The shower had a very poor pressure. There is not soap to wash the dishes and housekeeping don’t remove/replace cups... so basically you end up washing your cup with the body wash. There is never a manager on duty so if you want to speak with someone is basically impossible. I sent two email which I never got a reply. This is quiet unfortunate for the property itself to be such a bad managed cause the rooms are actually quiet nice.
Rafael was the only nice person overall working there, everyone else should change job, hospitality is not for everyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful complex in a great less crowded/noisy area. Great restaurants close by and it is a few blocks from the beach. Cons are construction next door, low water pressure and little soundproofing.
