Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful CONACYT centers that I have visited. The facilities are very Mexican, as well as the colors, make it combine with the beautiful landscape of the place.

Fundado en 1979 por Don Luis González, en Zamora, Michoacán se encuentra la primera sede. Desde 2001-2002 el doctor Carlos Herrejón Peredo, presidente en turno de El COLMICH fundó la extensión -actual sede- La Piedad.
Ahí se ofertan dos posgrados (maestrías) que forman parte del Programa Nacional de Posgrados de Calidad: En Arqueología y en Geografía.
Además hay un laboratorio de diagnóstico del patrimonio, donde se ofrecen servicios relacionados con análisis de materiales, transferencia de tecnología. Actualmente se trabaja en un proyecto de biorremediación de las aguas del río Lerma, en la parte del meandro.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Se suben de prestigio disque ser un centro de investigación. Pero no tiene nada de importante . Los visitantes obstruyen la libre circulación en las calles perimetrales del inmueble. Además de que el personal que usa los vehículos del colegio no tienen precauciones viales necesarias
