Su dueño, Francisco Manzanilla, construyó la factoría para procesar la fibra de la planta de henequén, calles, pozos de agua y casas para los trabajadores y sus familias. Al acabarse el auge del henequén que fue sustituido por el plástico la hacienda quebró, el patrón se fue y la hacienda se abandonó. Los ex trabajadores y sus familias se quedaron para luego convertirse en la Colonia San Francisco Manzanilla, incorporada como tal al municipio de Dzidzantún, Yucatán. Hoy, la actual autoridad municipal les está proporcionando los servicios públicos que se merecen como el nuevo parque inaugurado el 5 de octubre de 2019, cuya imagen acompaña este comentario. San Francisco Manzanilla was a henequen Hacienda that lived its time of splendor at the beginning of the last century. Its owner, Francisco Manzanilla, built the factory to process the fiber of the henequen plant, streets, water wells and houses for workers and their families. At the end of the henequen boom that was replaced by plastic, the farm went bankrupt, the boss left and the farm was abandoned. The former workers and their families stayed to later become the San Francisco Manzanilla Colony, incorporated as such into the municipality of Dzidzantún, Yucatán. Today, the current municipal authority is providing the public services they deserve as the new park opened on October 5, 2019, whose image accompanies this comment.
