★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious hot cocoa (water-based) with the typical Oaxacan bread. Visited this spot inside the Mercado as part of a tour. Everything on the menu looked very tasty and prices were great. Clean venue.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The mercado is so full of incredible options, Comedor María Alejandra is no exception. I had the quesadilla con flor de calabazas and the chocolate de agua. To be honest the quesadilla was okay, after eating food prepared over coals or on a clay comal, it's hard to go back and in this case the quesadilla is prepared on an iron grill. But the hot chocolate is extremely good and certainly one of the best I've had thus far (and I've had alot!). In fact, I'd give the chocolate de agua five stars and would come back just for that!
