Lamentable estado del edificio. No queda nada de aquel edificio de hace años. Con grandes tiendas y oficinas. El tiempo paga factura. En estado de abandono. Y hasta parece ser habitado por indigentes
The poor condition of the building. There is nothing left of that building from years ago. With large stores and offices. Time pays its bill. In a state of abandonment. And it even seems to be inhabited by homeless

A very nice building, currently half of the building is inhabited, from the 11th floor almost no one inhabits it, except a man with his dog. This building was inhabited by criminals and thieves a few years ago when it was completely abandoned.

There are many important facts in this building: I build a symbol of the opulence of the 50s. Some of the owners of the luxury apartments are said to have been Mauricio Garcés and Cantinflas. After the 85 earthquake it was abandoned for fear of a collapse, but it already endured two, along with that of 2017. It was also the scene of the murder of Abraham Polo Uscanga, as well as of high school squads who prostituted themselves inside it. It has survived fires, homeless people, looters and bad administrators. They call it "The Bastard of Architecture" because it is not known exactly who is the architect responsible for this colossal 17-story building with 420 offices. I quote comments from building administrators: This building is an icon of Mexico City as well as a worthy exponent of the Mexican spring. Brother of the extinct twin towers of New New York or the Rockefeller building he was the first in America of the brutalist style.

Creepy! This imposing but rapidly deteriorating building withstood the historic 7.7 magnitude earthquake of 1957 during construction and opened in 1958 as one of the first tall buildings in seismically active Mexico City, boasting of 19 floors, 420 apartments, and a helipad on top with its prestigious address attracting the upper echelons of society. Most tenants left after the destructive 1985 earthquake, and the building became derelict with the address no longer considered prestigious. Some units were filled with squatters. I was told it was not open to the public, but it seems to be, although it’s a tad sketchy inside and I would not recommend it. I was in and out within three minutes.
