Consultorio Médico Esparza - 97336 Chelem

We travel to the Chuburna/Chelem area every late winter/spring and stay about a month. This year (2020), my husband got sick right after we landed, with side effects from a procedure he'd had in Canada before we'd arrived in Mexico. The situation was a little complicated, and had required the expertise of a specialist back home, so my husband was sure that a consultation at the local Consultorio Medico Esparza would be fruitless. On the contrary. The doctor was informed, careful, respectful, professional, and made excellent recommendations that ameliorated the problem significantly (there isn't a cure, but the symptoms did prove treatable, and we were able to continue with our vacation with my husband being much recovered). The doctor's English was flawless and his bedside manner extremely comforting. We'd had a similar experience at the same Consultorio with the doctor's father (also a doctor, of course!) several years previously, when I'd caught a vicious 24-hour GI bug. I had fainted, struck my face, and had horrible GI symptoms. I was dehydrated, nauseous, diarrhetic, and in significant discomfort. This doctor (I believe he has since retired) was also extremely helpful. Although his English was somewhat limited, he understood everything I was describing, checked out everything, treated my dehydration and my symptoms, and made solid recommendations for my future conduct vis-a-vis recovery from the "bug" (his diagnosis and advice both proved spot-on). Like his son, he is also a top-flight capable doctor. It is a considerable reassurance to us, knowing that while we are that quiet tourist area, we have such capable care available to us.

Dr. Esparza is the most caring doctor I have ever had the pleasure of being cared by. VERY knowledgeable in his practice ,takes his time to talk with you. I highly recommend !!!!!

A really great doctor. Spends time with you explaining all the details and going over what needs to be done. He thoroughly explains test results and explains the reason for any medication he prescribed. We are very lucky to have him

Dr. Esparza speaks English very well which is very assuring as a new expat to the area still learning Spanish. He's helped me with a few concerns in the past year and I recommend him to anyone who posts in the Expat Groups online looking for a general physician in the area. He's very knowledgeable and even did some extra research and consulted a specialist about one of my conditions so that he can be on top of it. Relieved to have him in town.

Dr. Esparza is one of the most knowledgeable, sincere, caring and trustworthy doctors I have ever had the pleasure to be a patient of. I absolutely trust him or any doctor / facility to which he may refer me. In the past two years he has given me sound advice which I believe may have well saved my life and I have the utmost respect for him. Also, his bedside manner is unrivaled without a doubt. I undeniably trust Dr. Esparza with my life!

Wonderful, caring and patient! He is very thorough and knowledgeable especially with drug interactions. You never feel rushed! Cannot recommend him highly enough!
