★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El exconvento de nuestra señora de la Asunción data del siglo XVI, es un lugar muy agradable con un precioso jardín en su interior. A las afueras se encuentra el palacio municipal del pequeño municipio de Chapultenango, para llegar ahí hay que internarse en la sierra Chiapaneca a través de un sinuoso camino.
 The convent of Our Lady of the Assumption dates from the 16th century, it is a very pleasant place with a beautiful garden inside. On the outskirts is the municipal palace of the small municipality of Chapultenango, to get there you have to enter the Chiapaneca mountain range through a winding road.

Es un atractivo histórico no es turístico hay pequeños comércios no hay hoteles si decides visitarlo tómalo en cuenta tu ida y vuelta el mismo día

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ En la cabecera municipal de Chapultenango se puede admirar la iglesia y convento de la Asunción que data del siglo XVII, construida por la orden de los Dominicos quienes evangelizaron la región durante la conquista española. Actualmente es uno de los principales monumentos coloniales de Chiapas.
En Chapultenango se celebra el 15 de agosto la feria de la asunción, el 13 de julio a San Antonio y el 29 de julio a San Pedro. Son tradicionales los tamalitos de frijol y el atole de maíz con cacao. En esta cabecera municipal la temperatura media anual es de 22.5°.
El domingo 28 de marzo, sábado 3 de abril y el domingo 4 de abril del año 1982, fueron las fechas en las que hizo erupción el volcán chichonal, la cantidad de ceniza volcánica que cayó fue tan grande que devasto a los municipios de Francisco León y Chapultenango, eso ocasióno que el techo de ésta iglesia se derrumbara.
Posteriormente se reconstruyó, siendo hasta el día de hoy, la principal iglesia de Chapultenango.
In the municipal seat of Chapultenango you can admire the church and convent of the Assumption dating from the 17th century, built by the order of the Dominicans who evangelized the region during the Spanish conquest. It is currently one of the main colonial monuments in Chiapas.
In Chapultenango the fair of the assumption is celebrated on August 15, on July 13 in San Antonio and on July 29 in San Pedro. The bean tamale and the corn atole with cocoa are traditional. In this municipal head the annual average temperature is 22.5 °.
On Sunday, March 28, Saturday, April 3 and Sunday, April 4, 1982, were the dates in which the Chichonal volcano erupted, the amount of volcanic ash that fell was so great that it devastated the municipalities of Francisco León and Chapultenango, that caused the roof of this church to collapse.
Later it was rebuilt, being to this day, the main church of Chapultenango.
