Coral Island Hotel & Spa - 82148 Mazatlán

Small dated room, tiny balcony not big enough for 2 people. Balcony door unable to lock. Water unsafe to drink and no bottled water provided. Reception staff extremely rude and unprofessional. Other staff were professional and nice. Restaurant was ok staff were good and friendly.

I was expecting better from this hotel, now I know it's under construction , like the pool and gym. Two things i was looking forward to enjoy when I booked this. But the front desk took for ever when I check in because they had me email my ID or my confirmation and the wifi at the hotel was slow. Best things about this hotel, great view from the pool and the beach, right across the beach and rooms are nice and comfortable.

I stayed too many nights here. But breakfast is good. The housekeeping staff is cordial and efficient. The problem is the location, off the beaten path on the strand not close to anything. The pool is fine but always crowded.

I got a suite with jacuzzi paid 200 for the night. The jacuzzi didnt work unless you held button yourself. Only a small amount of toilet paper in bathroom. Jacuzzi was dirty. There website said ice machine went to front desk ask where it was guy told me they didnt have ice . Also no fridge in room. Ask front desk about resturant he didnt even tell me where it was.

Don't go by the name amd location. The overall experience is the lowest across hotels on Malecon. The place calls itself a spa but the spa is closed due to COVID, there was stairs reconstruction going on which was noisy but this was also not mentioned. ocean view can be from angles so don't expect front views. the floors are really very strange and long like you're entering a thriller movie location. The passages, elevators and the overall spaces are old, shabby and make you squirm. Room is Decent, balcony hardly has space. it's an angled balcony so good for one person unless you get the full balconies with front view.

When checking in the cost was much more expensive at the hotel than online so we booked online. They told us we would have an ocean view so I was shocked to open the shades when we got to the room and see we were directly facing the inside elevator so we have to keep the shade shut. It looks nothing like the pictures online. When we went to the hotel office to tell them that we had the wrong view, the women who checked us in refused to speak to us so and made some random guy talk to us instead. He told us that we were wrong and they never said we would have an ocean view. There are kids running around in the elevator area shouting and the maids smoke right outside our room all day. The worst part is the construction noise that must be in the room directly above us. A loud hammer is banging constantly at all hours. We would leave, but we are too exhausted from our ride on the ferry from Baja. Very disappointing.

Wasn't sure why this place has high ratings, locals maybe.... anyways place looks nothing like the pictures. Pictures are probably when it first opened. Elevators sometimes work. I only used the stairs for this reason. I ordered from their restaurant and mentioned that my wife was vegetarian and cant eat meat, Her whole meal had meat including her Chile relleno.. They did fix it.. Later that night we noticed ants on the counter.. ants aren't a big issue for us until we found cockroaches the next morning. We were planning on staying there for the remainder of our trip but ended up canceling our remaining days and moved to a different location. Roaches were the reason I give this place 1 star. Wont be staying there again!
