One of the best port I have visited. There is a huge resort style pool which you can enjoy, swim with dolphin experience, massage & healing shops. Lots of option for food , ice cream. Duty free shops are also available on the port. The taxi are available on the port for downtown & beaches.

Fantastic, great for all ages, excursions are reasonably priced but not necessary to have a great time. We have a 3 and 5 yo and did the port pass Aviary adventure. $10/person, took about 30min and we got to go across the rope bridge above the dolphin encounter, hand feed a bunch of parrots, catch geckos, and have a great time. Of course they have the all you can drink beach passes, snorkeling, scuba, etc. but keep in mind that if the waters are too choppy, too cold, or is raining, these are not that enjoyable. There is a giant pool connected to a few different swim up bars. If you order a drink then you can use the lounge chairs around the pool. Beer is $6 and the souvenir frozen margarita palm drink is $16. I saw this as a cover charge just like a club. Our boys ran around the shallow part of the pool for hours. We enjoyed the drinks, food, and natural palm tree shade or full sun depending on our mood. A great place to stop if on a cruise or a drive around the Yucatan.

12/5/21. We stayed at the Port. Took a walk around. Not all the shops open. A couple of bars and at least 1 restaurant open. Most everything is open-air or outdoor. The shop keepers and restaurant/bar staff were masked. 3 ships in port, not everyone masking, but enough open space/outside. It's a cute pirate-y themed port. Some cute photo ops. No real bargains on anything I might have sought to purchase. Some nice crafts. Bathrooms were gross.

Small walk from ship! Not to bad. Plenty of shopping options for all! Some whimsical stuff for the little ones to see. A group preformed an old traditional piece in the center square while narrating the history of it! Clean and well kept area!

There is also a huge resort style pool which I didn't take pictures of, bring your bathing suits. There are so many shops at the port. We didn't go on an excursion at this port because we wanted a shopping day. The port was really nice and we had a great time.

The port area was what you would expect, tourist focused merchants, and a fun destination beach. The expeditions are intriguing, from boat trips to Mayan temple visits... We also went into town which we preferred over the port merchants. More local stuff and local food. If you can find it in you to say no and ignore the many locals trying to give you massages and sell you anything they can find and just look at what interests you, you will have a good time along the town beach and experience a more real Mexico than the port beach.

Not a bad place to wander around for a few hours. We didn't have any excursions planned for this port, but we still wanted to get off the boat and enjoy the sunshine. We were pleased to find that right off the boat, there is a little tourist area with shops, restaurants, poolside bars, ect. Keep in mind, the locals are very eager to sell you things, so they'll try to stop you to make conversation every time you walk by. I've been in areas like this before, so it didn't phase me, I'd just thank them and keep it moving. There is a dolphin experience within this area as well. It was sad seeing the dolphins in captivity but they were so beautiful we enjoyed watching them swim around. We stopped at a restaurant, had a couple frozen drinks with chips and fresh guacamole so we could cool down in the shade. We got a couple cool things from the shops.. hand made leather belt, swim cover up, and a couple bottles of vanilla from the duty free shop. Overall, it was a nice experience, but if I were to go back to Costa Maya I would probably do an excursion.

Great Port to visit. Nice duty-free shops, fabulous food, bright and vibrant colors. The local people are so very pleasant and helpful. Dolphin adventures located within the port area and you can watch the interactions. Huge pool area between the bars/restaurants with swim up bar available. A great port to spend some time.
