Really bad experience. We went there looking for a general physician and the hospital staff wanted us to see a anesthesiologist (probably was without any patient that day) with a comment that you only pay if you are satisfied. Never go there….we eventually went to Dr Omar Alexis Nicolas at walk in clinic who was excellent.

My wife and two friends and I got Covid while in the Cancun area last month. We were asymptomatic and it had been long enough that we were not deemed contagious, and needed to return home. We went to the CostaMed Clinic in Tulum and were met by Joyce. She took the time to listen, understand and help us during two different visits. She was friendly, intelligent and professional. And her English was great. In short, she was incredible, and we are extremely grateful for her. We hope CostaMed realizes what a wonderful employee they have in her.

Joyce was phenomenal. She really helped us figure our way around the hospital. The hospital itself was clean and organized and everyone was very gracious.

This place continues to cheat!!! Be very careful Medicine they charged me 7,051.98 Pesos for 2 BOXES LEVOFLOXACINO 750MG I called the manufacturer in Mexico and told me the price Should be a total of 690 Pesos!!! It is not the first time this has happened at Costa Med. I live in Tulum and do not like to be cheated!! BE VERY CAREFUL AT THIS HOSPITAL

I came here because I was suffering Dengue. First I went to a public doctor and then to the public hospital. Both gave me antibiotics but the problem was that Dengue is a virus. About the hospital, first the only negative aspect: you need to do a deposit of 2000 Us Dollar if you want a treatment here. Alternatively your assurance can do contact them to guarantee that they’ll pay for you. That’s how I did. They accepted me, did several tests and gave me a private room. If you have any problem or wish, you can just let them know and they really do their best to treat you the best possible. The doctor comes every day and takes really care of you. I for example had some problems with my teeth and they sent me directly to a dentist. I had problems with my ear, they called a specialist. I had problems with my liver, they called a Hepatologist. They’re really patient, they’re kind, they’re professional and you won’t find any better medical service in Mexico. Btw the food is excellent. You get 3 delicious meals a day and they ask you before what they shall buy and prepare for you. So if it’s urgent and you have assurance, come here. I definitely recommend it. I was here for about two weeks.

Awful experience. I fractured and dislocated my thumb on Saturday. I arrived at the hospital and got X rayed (tech very friendly) and was told trauma doc on call was in Cancun and couldn’t make it until tomorrow. So I got some pain meds, immobilized the arm, and came back on Sunday. Turns out I needed surgery, but due to internal admin policies of the hospital they needed to fill out some costs of the surgery before submitting the paperwork to my insurance. Doc told me to come back next day, Monday, 9am for surgery. When I arrived team was ready but the hospital hasn’t sent any documents to my insurance because they needed to get pricing from their central billing department for equipment they already had. So surgery was delayed until Tuesday. We had to fight with them to get them to send the paperwork to my insurance. They finally did, and on Tuesday morning we were ready for surgery. EXCEPT that the machine needed for the surgery broke. Instead of transferring us to another CostaMed hospital the doc told us to ‘just go to the emergency room in playa’ and see what they could do for us. Now we are an hour and a half away from Playa and have been jerked around for 4 days with a dislocated thumb and have a dog, so we’re not about to go repeat this process when we can’t easily go home and have no guarantee of getting helped. Absolutely awful experience at every step of the way.

Tested 8 of us on a recent trip to Mexico. Several were showing signs of Covid. The person that did our tests barely put the swab on our nose and didn't touch the inside of our noses. We didn't even feel them test. All tested negative. Next day we get home and half of us tested positive. The "nurse" that did the test was eating a ring pop in-between tests. Very unprofessional, was obvious they are paid to give negative tests.

I was visiting Tulum from the US and one of my front crowns popped off. I was able to get into Costadental (a part of Costamed) the same afternoon that I called and I was seen by the dentist very quickly. He was very professional, sanitized and cemented my crown back on perfectly. I don't speak much Spanish and we were able to communicate in English. The visit did not cost more than $50. I cannot think the dentist at Costamed enough for saving my trip.
