-Un estudio del área de Geociencias de la UNAM, señala que los Humeros es el yacimiento con más alta temperatura del país, que alcanza los 400 grados centígrados.
Los pozos llegan a una profundidad de hasta 3500 metros.
La energía generada por Los Humeros es enviada al sistema de distribución Teziutlán-Libres de la CFE y equivaldría a tres cuartas partes del consumo eléctrico de una ciudad media, como podría ser una del tamaño de Xalapa.
