★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Es una cueva volcánica de tipo "tubo de lava", es decir cuando hizo erupción alguno de los volcanes de la zona por aquí fluía lava, primero se solidificaron las paredes y el techo, lo que aisló al río de lava y se secó posteriormente originando esta cueva.
Sospecho que se formó cuando hizo erupción el volcán Tetepetla (Ololica), ya que éste es el más cercano. A pesar de ello hay otros 2 cráteres anexos al sureste del volcán que menciono, que aún no estoy seguro si hicieron erupción al mismo tiempo que el Tetepetla, y que también pudieron haber originado esta cueva.
Esta cueva debe tener al menos 5 mil años, ya que este es el tiempo probable de la erupción del volcán Tetepetla, según me comentó una vulcanóloga que estudia los volcanes del sur de la Ciudad de México.
Lamentablemente el camino de acceso, así como también el interior de la cueva, están muy descuidados y hay demasiada basura. Según me comentaron algunos vecinos, es común que jóvenes adolescentes se reúnan aquí para beber alcohol y divertirse, inclusive aparentemente han llegado a encontrar jóvenes lastimados y por dicha razón habían cercado la cueva, aunque cuando fui ya no estaba cerrado el acceso. Adicionalmente, según me comentó otra vecina, aquí se suelen esconder personas que asaltan a los curiosos que pasan cerca, afortunadamente cuando fui no me llevé ningún susto.
Esta cueva tiene un gran potencial de ser usada como un destino turístico-recreativo-educativo, ojalá se reconozca su relevancia y se intente preservar y rescatar, ya que solo se cuida y quiere lo que se conoce.

It is a volcanic cave of the "lava tube" type, that is, when one of the volcanoes in the area erupted, lava flowed through here, first the walls and the ceiling solidified, which isolated the lava river and subsequently dried up, causing this cave.
I suspect that it was formed when the Tetepetla (Ololica) volcano erupted, since this is the closest one. Despite this, there are 2 other craters attached to the southeast of the volcano that I mention, which I am still not sure if they erupted at the same time as Tetepetla, and which could also have originated this cave.
This cave must be at least 5,000 years old, since this is the probable time of the eruption of the Tetepetla volcano, a volcanologist who studies the volcanoes south of Mexico City told me.
Unfortunately the access road, as well as the interior of the cave, are very neglected and there is too much garbage. As some neighbors told me, it is common for young teenagers to meet here to drink alcohol and have fun, even apparently they have come to find injured young people and for that reason they had fenced off the cave, although when I went the access was no longer closed. Additionally, according to what another neighbor told me, people usually hide here who assault the curious who pass by, fortunately when I went I did not get any fright.
This cave has great potential to be used as a tourist-recreational-educational destination, hopefully its relevance will be recognized and attempts will be made to preserve and rescue it, since it only cares for and wants what is known.
