We were a party of 10 ladies and Jose was just wonderful. We did the 8-11 p.m. food and mezcal tour. Best food I have ever had on the island and I have been visiting Isla for 13 years! Didn't even know these places existed and will definitely return. We had so much food we took half of it home with us from the last 2 stops. It was wonderful and we just could not eat another bite. Definitely recommend this tour!

Highly recommend Cultura Cruisers Food Tours to anyone visiting Isla Mujeres. We booked the walking tour. Our wonderful guide Jose brought us to homes and businesses of 7 small local food producers. Amazing food & experience!

Today we took a food tour by bicycle highlighting the locals. We ate in small restaurants owned by locals and in the home kitchens of our guide Jose’s family. His wife Nena made us traditional Mayan empanadas queso. Then we went to his sister in law’s Mayra’s who made us chicken mole which is usually only eaten on very special occasions ?. We had queso Birria tacos , the birria was cooked in a pit covered with banana leaves for 12 hours. Islanders can only buy beef 1-2 times a week on the island ? so we were lucky to catch it. We had fresh Orange juice and fresh cucumber lime juice , the best pina colada and micheladas on the island. We finished off at Jose’s brothers house to have the most delicious ceviche ?. Jose told us that daughters always stay in the home, husbands move in and they just build the house up. Each new generation builds a floor above the last ? ; and I thought the outside staircases were beautiful before ?. Oh and people have banana trees in their backyards ?.

We just returned from Isla and did Cultura Cruisers Food Tours with Jose for the second time. We had such a great experience doing the golf cart tour last time that we did the bike tour this time. Jose is so friendly, funny and full of good stories. It was nice to hear how his family has changed since we saw him 3 years ago. We went to 8 stops including 3 personal homes, which was such a priviledge. We had empanadas at Jose's home, enchiladas con mole (private home), micheladas, fried whole fish at Minino's (even ate the eye at Jose's encouraging!), buns (picked up extra for the next morning), sopes at Chile y Maize, the BEST poblano peppers stuffed with steak and cheese from Delivery by Daria at his kitchen (which we ordered to our rental another night), and finally flan at Norma's home. You must do this tour if you are visiting the island and plan it for early in your trip so you can return to your favourite spots. We will try the late night walking tour next time!

We had an amazing tour with Jose. Not only was he very knowledgeable and informative, his pride in the island and its people really shined through. We had fantastic food, congenial company, and a wonderful bike ride through the colonias… that included visiting shelter puppies! We would definitely go on another tour.

My husband and I have been visiting the island for several years now. Each trip we try to learn a little more and experience something unique about this beautiful paradise. We heard about the Cultura Cruisers Food Tour and it sounded exactly like what we like were looking for. We easily booked our tour with Marlita and Jose, our guide, met us promptly at 9:30 am. He drove our golf cart so we could relax and enjoy the ride. It was a nice mix of delicious food and great information about the island. The food was delicious at every single stop. *Note - you’ll need to start with an empty stomach if you even want to think about finishing everything. Jose was a delight and we highly recommend this tour for your Must Do list!

These company is a treasure. My wife and I are frequent street food explorers, but that can be intimidating. Beach clubs and snorkeling are great, but ThIS is the don't miss tourist experience on Isla mujeres Our guide, Jose, is an island native who speaks English as well as I do. He took us to get street food, a panderilla (bakery) and a couple private homes, ended with a private mescal tasting. Everything was wonderful, but the arrancheras Chile rellenos may have been the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. And our leftover cheese and jam and sweet potato pastries made a great breakfast the next day.

We were new to the island. This was perfect to taste the true flavors of the island! Top notch company!!We aren't usually the tour type but saw a great review for Cultura Cruisers Food Tours and thought we'd give it a try. From start ( securing the tour) to end, the experience was top notch!! Jose, our tour guide, was professional and very knowledgeable about Isla. We visited numerous sites and tasted and drank the most amazing food and drink of the island!! We would never have had this opportunity without this tour. A tip to those of you thinking of doing this tour, bring a bag to bring your left- overs home to enjoy later because there is so much food you will be stuffed if you eat it all.!!? they even surprised my bf with a birthday celebration!!
