About Dart de México, S. de R.L. de C.V.

Dart’s business continuity strategy supports the continuation of business-critical functions in the event of a significant business disruption. The following information provides an overview of our business continuity program.

Business disruptions can result from severe weather, loss of workforce due to pandemics or man-made scenarios. We designed our business continuity strategies to lessen the effects of these events. While business disruptions can’t always be avoided, Dart strives for resiliency through preparedness.

In March 2020, the US Department of Homeland Security identified the food & beverage packaging industry as “essential critical infrastructure” during the pandemic. All US Dart facilities are viewed as essential and therefore remain open.

Scope & Governance

Dart’s business continuity program applies to all corporate business functions. The program is governed by charter, policy and steering committee oversight. We periodically audit Business Continuity practices for alignment with ISO 22301 standards.

Analysis

Business impact analysis identifies business-critical functions, dependencies and the effects of disruptions. Risk assessments help identify the threats and vulnerabilities that could have an effect on our business. We use this information when developing our business continuity and disaster recovery plans to help sustain business operations throughout a disruption.

Disaster Recovery

Data recovery is critical during a business disruption. Dart’s multiple data centers are geographically diverse with redundant systems supporting core applications. Our core application suite is on a separate network and protected by its own firewall. We protect our core application suite through system virtualization fault tolerance strategies and replication of data between multiple locations. Databases are continually backed up and immediately replicated to alternate locations.

Incident Management

Dart’s incident response framework is based on the FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS). Members of incident response teams are required to complete FEMA and company-developed training and exercises.

Continuous Improvement

Business continuity and disaster recovery plans are reviewed and updated on a scheduled basis. We test plans to ensure they are current and meet objectives. Documentation of test results describe any identified issues with the recovery process and corrective action taken. Test results and lessons learned are published internally for management review.
