So pleased to finally have tried this restaurant!!! Been passing by here for over a year now and it always caught my eye as it was always full of people. I finally came around to trying it and couldn’t be happier!!! The empanada were very tasty we had the mushroom one and the be local ones, I can’t wait to go back and try the other ones on the menu. The chicken chimichurri was the best chicken I’ve had in playa up to now!!! This restaurant is definitely a local joint even though it’s on 5th. They have a full menu from meats to pasta to risotto to pizza they have a wood oven for pizza. The service was great and the restaurant was very busy. Can’t wait to come back here!

Avoid for breakfast. The cook could not make an omelette. Overcooked outside raw inside. The very few potatoes were dry, cold and hard.

This is our fourth visit and we will continue going to De Local. It is authentic Argentine food and fantastic. Can't wait to try the new vegan restaurant two doors down in just a few days when they open.

This is one of my favorite place in Playa Del Carmen for breakfast and lunch. The food is good and well priced, the staff is nice. It is quiet, which is great when you want to escape the crowd. And you often see Mexicans here, which is a proof it is not a tourist trap (as so many places on the 5th). Great job to the staff and owners :)

I gave the place two chances...on my first visit a curly little black hair fell out of my Jamon con queso baguette, which didn't seem to phase the pleasant waitress and on the second chance, the fried calamari was crisp and tasty until I got to the terribly salty second layer. The beef mildness was huge but dry and tasteless! The coke light and espresso were good.
