★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have severe food allergies and my orders can be complicated. Most restaurants have someone outside who try to bring customers in; I'll explain that I have allergies, go over the menu options, then have the server completely ignore my requests and become irritated with my cumbersome order. That has not been the case with Paquita.
The young man caught us as we were walking back from breakfast at a different restaurant. I explained my dietary restrictions and he, of course, promised me I would be taken care of. We opted to come back for dinner.
To my surprise, they were patient and accommodating. The foods tasted better than anything else I had eaten since arriving in Playa del Carmen and the servers were pleasant and social. We have since tried a few other places but we always end up coming back because they are so kind and truly enjoy serving their customers. I am very thankful for such great food and wonderful service!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not sure why this place has the bad reviews it has, it was great! The prices are good, the staff are really kind, and the food was solid! Our server Kevin was really awesome and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of and joined us in conversation multiple times. We never had to ask for anything because he was always checking in. I would really recommend this place if you are looking for some authentic food that is affordable. Try it out!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really good food and fantastic service. Their Agua frescas are the best I've had. I think this place gets overlooked in people's quest to get to El Fogón. But it's a great spot with good prices and I'll be going back.
Went back for breakfast this morning and the food and service was again excellent. There is a large breakfast menu. For MEX$120 you can choose a main which comes with coffee, tea or juice, and fresh fruit with granola. The coffee is REALLY good, brewed with cinnamon, cacao and unrefined cane sugar (really flavourful like brown sugar).
