Esta iglesia data del siglo XVI y el santo patrono es Santiago Apóstol.
El tamaño no es muy grande, sin embargo cuenta con un bonito atrio, y lo mejor es que es una iglesia muy conocida en la región, ya que en Quechultenango cada año el primer domingo del mes de agosto se celebra el ocoxuchitl (flor de ocote) que consiste en bailar alrededor de la Iglesia al son de teponaxtle y con los ramos de ocoxuchitl en las manos.
Algo curioso es que está planta llamada ocoxuchitl antes de entrar a bailar no tiene ningún aroma, sin embargo al salir de la Iglesia desprende un aroma muy característico y agradable.
Es por eso que en esos días en Quechultenango se respira a fiesta se respira a ocoxuchitl.
 Santiago Apóstol Parish is located in the center of Quechultenango.
This church dates from the 16th century and the patron saint is Santiago Apostle.
The size is not very large, however it has a beautiful atrium, and the best thing is that it is a well-known church in the region, since ocoxuchitl (ocote flower is celebrated every year on the first Sunday of August) ) which consists of dancing around the Church to the sound of teponaxtle and with the ocoxuchitl bouquets in your hands.
Something curious is that this plant called ocoxuchitl before entering to dance has no aroma, however when leaving the Church it gives off a very characteristic and pleasant aroma.
That is why in those days in Quechultenango you breathe a party you breathe ocoxuchitl.
