La Alborada was recommended by our guide at another distillery as one of the best small distilleries. We arrived after hours, but Edgardo graciously gave us a tour and tastings of their tequila and liquores. They were all outstanding. It was one of the highlights of our two weeks in the Guadalajara area.

Take this tour. Take this tour because La Alborada is owned and operated by a small family who take great passion in their business. Toni is a true gentleman who guided us through the process and showed us what it takes to produce a quality tequila. You get a real feel of the heart and attention to detail that is put in every bottle. He treated us like family, showed us the proper way to experience tequila and we can’t wait to go back. If you want a "Mexican Experience", take the train and visit one of the big distilleries and see their pretty haciendas and traditional dance shows. If, however, you come to Tequila to find high quality product that isn't on the shelves of every supermarket in Mexico, made with love by friendly people who really care about what they do, come here. We were met by Tonio, who was happy to show us round his family's small distillery, explain the manufacturing process and give us a taste of their wonderful products at the end. We ended up buying several bottles. My bottle of their premium 7-year matured Tequila was even given a personal touch with a message from Tonio's father, the founder of the distillery. All-in-all, the experience was everything I'd hoped for. If you want to try some wonderful Tequila made by a small family-run distillery, this is the place.

This was truly an amazing and unforgettable experience. The owner treats you like family. We highly recommend this establishment. And like we told the owner we will open the bottle of Tequila that we bought in our daughters wedding. MUCHAS GRACIAS POR SU ATENCION!
